Default EJ20 or EJ257 Hybrid Setup (Help Needed)

Hey guy's

Due to a Spun rod bearing in my EJ20, Im looking at my options...1 swap out my EJ20 for a new shortblock, gaskets and head studs or 2 HYBRID setup. i can get a new EJ257 SB for $1200 (Deal) or a EJ205 SB for $1500. i have a limited buget & i dont have $500 for a pro tune. Any advise will be much appritiated. What mods should i do if i go hybrid and will i get more power out of this setup Vs a stg 2.5 on an EJ20???, Im not looking for a race car but i want a daily driver with some guts.

P.S Im looking for a good DYI or Guide on building a Hybrid, I have been searching but no luck. also looking for a good openecu map for a hybrid.

Thanks for all your help.

If you cant pay for all the extra stuff might as well just get a replacement 2.0 short block
