I threw a rod bearing in my wrx the other day and am looking for a good used short block or long block. Ive gotten quotes from many different garages for a new block but they seem to be really steep. So if anyone knows of somewhere to get a good used block or has one let me know.

You should just save and get the 2.5 liter block... then you have less chance of that happening again....

But the only thing with that is it will cost more and im on a tight budget. Im just looking to get the car back to stock running condition as soon as I can because this is my only car and school starts for me in about two weeks.

I had the same problem and I found a 2.5 shortblock and it was direct bolt in and everything worked perfect and I used sti master gasket set for the head gaskets and put it all together and fired it up and I've been driving it for about two months now without any tunning or any thing changed. everything is stock and it runs great. if you want it to perform I REALLY suggest an acess port and a good tunner to hook you up. It will work fine for daily driving though.
