Default Anyone build, buy an intake system for the EJ20G

I built my own intake using 2.5inch intake/intercooler piping and some brass hose thingys for the boost solenoid and i think thats the IAC or PCV hose. i was wondering with out that sliencer box will it affect the vaccum going to eather of those? how are the aftermarket intake systems designed?

ANY insight into intakes for the ej20G would be helpful thanks!!

not many replacement intakes all together. some people make there own, all you really need to do is replace the sliencer box and a maf adapter with a K&N. And that bigger hose is the IAC hose. Damn I havent seen a stock ej20g setup in ahile to remeber. LOL

When I bought my car, it had some steel exhaust pipe that was expanded to fit the larger elbow. I got rid of that hose going into the boost control solenoid when I got a Perrin EBCS.

Oh yeah, and I've seen a blingin' carbon fiber intake that Blitz makes but I still haven't tracked any down. I'm searching to see if I uploaded the picture.

i have that identical kit but only the filter on the car now due to the FMIC.
the other car has the EJ20G ARC airbox, but you cannot fit the oem waterspray res bec the ARC box is so huge - its about 150% the size of the stock, so I dont know if you could fit it with stock ABS even, although i would guess yes-

Where you able to find a place to mount the long brace that goes down? I couldn't match anything on my car to the instructions.

This is a dumb question but your intake does it affect the MAF?

Im interested in buying a replacement for the rubber elbow in my MY96, as you can see in the pics
http://motoseteo.superbikeclub.com/photo2.html

I made a hand made intake but I whant to replace the elbow with something less restrictive.
Where can I see options.
My car has the 90d turbo intake.

Thanks

The only fitment problem is that the bottom bracket doesn't have a place to mount on the chassis. Kind of strange.

Yes marcos, this should fix your homemade 90 deg bend. Also, MRT sells a replacement part that would go in place like the Apexi cast part.

Thanks a lot Rob.
I filter is a cheap one. so I will replace it with a better one.

I have kartboy adapter aprox 80mm. that holds with 4 bolts in the MAF.
Can I buy a apexi filter and use it with it since it says 80mm, but I dont know if the part that goes into the filter is like mine.

Or it goes directly from the maf to the filter with the bolts.

Thanks a lot

My intake is longer than the apexi, that one is to short since I have a catch can and the FMIC pipes in that area.

Not to intnetionally bump a buried thread, but it was recently linked to and I have an answer.

Grab an airbox from a first-gen Legacy ('90-'94). There is a metal support/riser that spaces it off the framerail. The Apexi intake is designed for this piece. The Legacy airbox is the same as an old EJ20G one.

My 98' RS had the same bracket and was used when I installed that above pictured intake. I initially removed the metal bracket, then found that it was necessary for bracing on the Apexi EJ20g intake.
