Default Can I use my AP cable (not married) to check a CEL code on my 04 sti using open ecu??

as the title says.

can the AP version 1 cable be used with any of the open source tuning programs to check a CEL. I think I know what happened, but I want to be sure.

From memory, the only opensource program to read CEL (trouble codes) was ecuexplorer (download HERE).

I'm unsure if it will work with the AP cable though - just download and see if it works

I'm gonna give it a try. My car survived the hurricane with absolutely no damage. Thankful for thick concrete buildings!

I have now read that ecuexplorer doesn't pick up all error codes and/or it is buggy and there is no longer any CEL development.

You might have a better chance trying to source an OBD2 scan tool.

For your 02, it should work fine. I think ecuexplorer had been out of development for several years, but it works fine with older ROMs. I use it all the time with my 04. I think RomRaider also has a trouble code section....
