OMGHi2U GT Live update (mark your calendars for Oct 3/4/5 at VIR)

We have added a discount code for all car club members. This is a
limited time offer of $20 for a weekend pass. Tickets can be purchased
on etix http://www.gtlivetour.com/tickets.html

The discount code for this offer is PCC08 and will be valid for 10 days
starting 9/5.

What is GT Live?

Subaru will have a major presence at GT Live on Saturday October 4th and Sunday October 5th at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia. You can visit the GT Live web site at www.gtlivetour.com

Sometime on Monday September 8th the website www.wrxtrackattack.com will go live with all of the details of a Subaru driving event to be held on the skid pad at VIR. You will be able to register to drive a Subaru performance vehicle on a closed course with a professional driver. The course will be an auto cross type layout and the cars will include the all new 2009 Impreza WRX, the 2008 Impreza STi and the Legacy GT. Three driving sessions will be held on Saturday and on Sunday. Walk ups will be allowed but the majority of the spots will be filled with pre registrations on the wrxtrackattack.com web site.

Many other Subaru related driving performance events will be held on both days. The South Central Region will host a Subaru only parking area adjacent to the Subaru driving event on the skid pad. More details will be released on that soon. There will be drawings for Subaru give aways, for free go cart track time. for ride alongs on Tarzan;s lapping sessions and the Subaru Road Racing tram will be vying for the championship of the Koni Challenge series on Sunday on the road course.

Last year over 100 Subaru owners attended GT Live and the Subaru specific activities that were held there. This year we are expecting a lot more Subaru owners to attend, especially to get the chance to drive the new 2009 WRX or the other Subaru performance vehicles at the WRX Track Attack event. And you can bring your non Subaru friends so they can get the chance to drive on the WRX Track Attack course as well.

Be sure and note that you you must pay to enter the GT Live event at the gate to get in. Nearly all of the other GT Live activities are included in the general admission entry fee. Plan to be at GT Live on October 4th and 5th. It is going to be a big Subaru meeting point with a lot of great performance driving activities.

I don't know if Ron or VIR Eurorally can help me out or not...but here it goes.

I had planned on doing Tarzans lap battle but the registration process has been a total PIA. At first the website said that registration was open but when you clicked on the link to register it said that it was closed but there was one person already registered for the event. After a few emails with Steve Ingram at xtrm.com I found out that there was a bug in their system and it would be fixed in a week. 3 weeks and another email later the registration finally opens. I attempt to register again. This time it will allow you to register and says the fee is $100, (Cool) but when you go to check out it says that there is going to be a processing fee of $100 (not cool). I contacted Steve yet again and rhetorically asked if this was correct. He assured me that this was not correct and he would have someone fix it immediately. Now it has been another 3 weeks and now we are only 3 weeks from the event and it is still trying to charge the $100 processing fee.

I am getting really frustrated with the whole process and can't help to think that if they are having this much trouble getting through the registration process the event will be a total cluster **ck. There are only 12 slots for each day and I am sure they will fill pretty fast once they can get thier ducks in a row. Do either of you know someone else I can contact so that I can get through the registration?

I had been looking forward to being able to actually get some track time but I may have to settle for paddock time.

Edit: I just signed up for the wrxtrackattack. Sunday at 12:00. I hope to see you guys there.

VA07WRX, I would contact Steve again since that is their baby per say. He should be able to register you either by phone or through their site somehow.
As far as the wrxtrackattack, you have a good time picked out since you will get the car after it has had an hour to cool off during quiet hour at the track.
