personally I used a hair dryer, fishing line, goo-gone and then **rubbing compound, I used turtle wax rubbing compound buffed out where you would still be able to see where the badges were on the paint. wash it off, then wax.

A friend of mine debadged his rsx type s and you could see where his emblem was. I then used the turtle wax rubbing compound on it and looked great! so I wouldn't skip this part if you want it to look 100%.

I've removed it all...you simply need a hairdryer...heat it up all nice, EXTREMELY SLOWLY drag it downwards while it is still hot - you will probably have some residue...keep using the hairdryer, and a towel (i like the shop rags best) and rub...this adhesive can only stand so much heat, so PLEASE avoid using ANY CHEMICALS whatsoever and stick with heat/friction...anything else MAY effect the paint...of course finish with clay bar/wax to protect the virgin area like the rest of your car...

I used a hair dryer as well. Heat it up really good. Then i used fishing wire to lift the badge off while it was still pretty hot. To get the remaining sticky crap off of it i used Goo Gone. (MAKE SURE IT IS NOT GOO OFF! THAT WILL RUIN YOUR PAINT) Goo GONE is the right stuff. Then i used turtle wax car wax to clean up the spot.

Came out MINT

Don't need a hair dryer most of the time unless its really on there. I have used naphtha (lighter fluid) everytime without any issue. This is the same stuff that collectors use to remove price tags from objects. It removes adhesive without any weird smudging. And you can get it by the quart or gallon at the hardware store. You can also use it to clean parts before painting as it evaporates really quickly and removes grease, oils and contaminants.

Save yourself the trouble and use a heatgun or hair dryer.

ive found floss, hairdryer, and goo-gone usually works...except when debadging a Silverado, that required fishing line and then some of the adhesive foam wouldnt come off.

haha i was definitely being sarcastic

dental floss was too weak for me...
1. goo-gone (squirt behind emblem)
2. hair dryer (heat emblem)
3. fishing line (drag behind emblem)
4. hair dryer (heat emblem residue)
5. goo-gone w/ rag (wipe away emblem residue)
was the order/method i used

Default STOP REAL advice here

WTF?? razorblade??? heatgun??? are you fkn with this guy or just dont give a **** about your car or ....just stoned ? I mean at least the lighter one was funny at that point just get a plasma torch and cut the fkr out...
NEVER use a razor blade
NEVER EVER use a heat gun .... WTF
NEVER use abrasives on your paint...EVER..unless your finishing, buffing etc.
Go to the hardware or paint store. Like the OP said Buy a product called NAPTHA. Yeah goof off will work but naptha is better. Besides naptha has way more uses and is over all way cheaper. DO NOT buy mineral spirits. NAptha 5$ @ ace. YOU DONT NEED DENTAL FLOSS...the things people come up with.
NAptha will NOT harm you finish in any way. Get a squirt bottle at the hardware store or sally's beauty supply they are cheap! get a rag ( obviously soft cloth not some used up snot rag from the garage) for spillage to wipe up excess. pick at the badge to see what the adhesion is like. Its just glue. Start dropping small amounts on the top of the badge. Let it soak a few min wiping up excess as you go along. You'll be able to peel it right off in a few minutes or less. USe your brain obviously, a few drops back and forth let it soak in the glue, remove wipe excess up. I genraly squirt the crap on there and just keep the rag underneath. Badge should come off quickly and easily. Wow residue imagine that. Soak rag with naptha but again use common sense. Got that rag soaked? good press it to the residue for like 30 sec wipe away gunk. RInse repeat your done. if your really lazy and dont care abouyt micro scratches just soak and wipe away, hell spread it all around the whole back of the deck lid for a cool haze effect....If you want heat up the badge with a hairdryer, but honestly getting that out, warming it up making sure you dont bubble paint or curl it ......blah waste of time.
HEy if you wanna use razorblades, lighter, heat gun, go ahead, but the naptha always works and never fails. I been doing this for a long as time, and yeah I AM skilled enough to use a heat gun. YEAH i am skilled enought to use a razor blade, im also skilled enough i dont need saftey glasses either, but I am not stupid enough to NOT use them... get my point?
Yeah and im sure also theres guys out there using razor blades heatguns etc and doing great, but its russian roulette on your paint finish... GL ~!

lol at least its an 05 that youre working with, because if you take the badge off of an older car the paint around it will be faded, becomes just a small annoyance, or if you buy used and the previous owner decided to paint the car and totally doesnt match up >_<
