As far as I know you need the extra fuse to colse the circuit, so yes My DRLs are disabled and it works fine, but I disabled mine under the hood |

a few questions....
where is that second white fuse from? whats the best way to take out the relay? I do not have any baby screw drivers the op said he ran the fuse off the rear wiper. does that mean that same fuse on the sedan is no good to do this mod or is this mod just for wagons? |

One question I had; with this mod, are the fogs always on, no matter if you press the button? Or are they completely independent, you can run with or without fogs?
Thanks |

You can make the fogs turn on with parking light, ignition, when the door is open, but the switch will still control it. It's just the relay trigger you are changing

just did this on my 06 sedan. tapped into the rear wiper fuse. only thing that sux is the coin tray doesnt stay closed because the "add-a-fuse" housing is in the way of it closing. tried messing with the coin tray tabs on the side... didn't work. I'm sure i'll think of a way to rig something up.

I did this today, tapped into the lumi fuse since it was closest and the wire that came on the add a circuit didnt fit from the rear wiper. the indicator light is off when headlights are off or on parking but is on when headlights are on and is a bit faded when the high beams are on. The coin tray didnt fit back as good as before and has trouble getting in place but once it is in place it seems to stay put. overall worth it but considering the soldering and the pain to get the relay back in I probably should have gone with the splicing method

Hey all, Just an idea but haven't tried this on the wrx yet.
On a lot of cars this can be done very easily. All you're doing is bypassing the relay by jumpering the two power prongs. There are typically 4 prongs on a relay - two "control" terminals that when 12v is applied on one (which is when the headlights turn on) then it connects the two power terminals (one is always hot, the other goes to the switch/light/etc). The easiest way is to take a 2" length of wire and put a spade terminal on each end and simply plug them into the 2 power female connectors where the relay would sit, which permanently gives power to the switch/device/etc. I've done this on a handful of vehicles and it takes two seconds and requires no splicing, etc. I would think it would be just as easy on the wrx... |

I need to do this on my 2011 WRX.
I'll read up on this "splicing method" once I find it, and read up on the "ScoobyMod" version, and then make my decision and share my results. We need another warm day around here first. It's been in the teens and 20's for awhile now and I would rather go skating. ![]() |
