Default Baja/Legacy auto to manual conversion Questions

I just got my 05 Baja turbo a few months ago. I searched for a few months and could not find a clean low mileage manual trans one for the right price. I did find a real low milage auto that the price was to low to turn down. Being that I will do all the work myself and do have a lift to use it is cost effective to do the swap.

Well I went to my buddys shop yesterday and they have a 2006 Legacy 5-speed with 40k miles and the car is wreaked on one side. They were taking the car apart for whatever is worth anything. he offered me everything I need to convert my car for $300.00 Includes Trans, rear diff. Pedals, clutch master, axles etc.

Now my question is. The legacy is not turbo. Is the gearing different? I figured for the price I could always do the trans over. Also will all the parts from the 06 legacy fit my 05 baja? I'm trying to find out as much as possible so when I do the swap I have as little down time as possible.

Any input would be great

Parts should fit. The gearing will probably be different. Check out my write-up. It's for the first gen legacy, but the main stuff should be similar if not the same
