Default People wanting a Link G3/G4 (mainly for the EZ30R) - !!!NOW WITH PRICING!!!

Hi guys,
For all of you that have been trying to find out about getting a Link G4 or a G3 to run an EZ30R (or any other motor for that fact) but havent had any luck in the USA, I have a solution for you.

After speaking with Link and Dave @ Dtech Motorsport here in NZ, I will be able to organise ECU's for you as the vendor in the USA doesn't have sole rights for it so you are able to import straight from NZ.

Best way to do it would be a group buy situation, so what i would like is anyone who is rather keen on this, could you please post up and tell me what you think so i can gauge interest on this idea.

If there is enough interest il go further from here with more specific's.

FYI: Im dealing with Dave @ Dtech motorsport here in NZ, he is one of the main distributors of Link here in NZ, he used to work from Link and did development on the Link G2 and is the guy who does tuner training for Link for the G3 and G4 all over the world.

I haven't gotten as far as engine management in trying to research the EZ30R into my 98 RS (GC8) conversion but if using LINK is the way to make it happen easier than with the stock ECU somehow, then I would definitely be interested in some pricing and info on it....

i am very interested in the G4 for a Vir2 WRX EJ20G.
i sent an email to LINK and got a responce with no indacation that i would have to go through a distribuitor to get one...

but if a group buy could get a good deal i would be interested.

Yea, in the USA no-one has a sole distribution right for them anymore, thats why it is possible to get them from NZ and send them over. I dont have to go through a distributor as such, but I can get them cheaper through Dtech as I have alot to do with them, Im fairly sure i should be able to get them at a 15% to maybe 20% discount on the New Zealand rrp, which is cheaper than the USA rrp anyway after speaking with a few people and shopping around on the net.

I'm running the G3 in my '04 STi and would love to have one in my 98L/STi swap.

If you can get me a G3 for my EZ30R swap I would definitely be all over that deal. I actually have a friend that works at a Link dealer here in the US, but he lives on the other side of the country and has no experience with the EZ30R. It would be great to deal with people down there in NZ who have actually done the EZ30R swap and thus are familiar with what I would be going through.

(Sorry I haven't replied to your latest email, I'll get back to you one of these days! )

Thanks,
Pat

Now that the G4 has been released, the G3 doesnt really exist anymore.

They would rather sell you a G4 (its cheaper than the G3 now anyway).

The G4 options are the Storm or the Extreme
The Extreme is basically a G3 linkplus with a new case wiring and can do peak and hold injector driving as well as E-throttle control
The Storm is aimed at the 4 cylinder market although it can run more cylinders it just cant do it sequentially
It can also do cam control so it could do an EZ30r but would run it wasted spark and group fire.

So let me know what you think.

So does the Extreme do cam control, too, or only the Storm does cam control?

Thanks,
Pat

From what I gather in his post the Extreme only. The Storm is more the "base" model. And..........WHY AM I JUST NOW SEEING THIS?! LOL I guess cause I've only been checking my subscriptions and not the conversions forum. Someone want to post this in the H-6 Impreza resource thread? I know I wanted a G4 anyways and looks like an Extreme so I can run the Si-Drive setup.
So I don't know how much but I may just decide now rather than last on ECU options. I was kinda interested in the new Hydra but I don't know I was more drawn to the Link first for the options. Now only if the G4 could self tune like the Hydra

They both do cam control,

But for the purpose of anyone wanting it for an EZ30R, I would use the Extreme as it can do everything fully (I know ).

As using the Storm on the EZ30R, you would have to run it wasted spark and group fire for this too work as it is intended for 4 cylinder applications (a "normal" subaru motor )

There is also a plug-in version coming out which is suppose to be released in just under 2 weeks according to Link over here in NZ.

Here is the link to the full details for people to school themselves on.

Also I just put a link to this thread in the Impreza forum. Cheers for the idea Seraphinwolf, I havent been that on to it lately .

HOLY HELL![size=2] Under $1200. Yeah I think I've deffinately made my choice on the G4 over the Nemisis 2.6. Hydra is sweet but too pricey at my curent swap speed. And I get to run the Si-Drive which I wanted the G4 for mostly in the first place over the Hydra. Now what about on other Link bits? I want to get teh MAP sensors and such to go with all this so I'm set to go. I'm in.

As someone gets one of these, keep us updated. I'm a little hesitent about the whole dedicated plug in ECU thing, especially on the older cars.

Ok ladies and gentleman.

These still have a little room to move given on how may people want them okay.

But as it stands pricing is as follows (depending on what your american economy does to us at the moment and how many people get it)

G4 Storm - $970 USD
This has comes with an inbuilt 2.5 bar MAP, if you would like the 5 bar MAP you need the external 5 bar

G4 Extreame - $1570 USD
This you need to choose either the 2.5 bar MAP sensor or 5 bar MAP sensor

G4 Plug-in for WRX Ver 7 onward - $1385 USD
This utilizes the factory MAP sensor

G4 Plug-in for WRX Ver 1 - Ver 6 - $1000 USD
This utilizes the factory MAP sensor

2.5 Bar MAP sensor - $85 USD
5 Bar MAP sensor - $105 USD

Air temp sensor - $55 USD

Display Link - $650 USD

Like before PM me if your interested okay.
