Default Thinking about going to CU Boulder

I am a high school graduate that currently lives in northern california. I am taking a year off inbetween high school and college to do as much autox and hpde events as possible as well as build my car up as much as possible before moving off to college. - Not like this matters but thats a little background

I have been accepted to CU and UW in seattle and am trying to decide which would be better. I toured both and they are both equally impressive, both the education and the surround area. However, from some research i have been doing, washington seems to be lacking in the motorsports category, which, along with snowboarding, is one of the major players in my college decision (cant go to another state without my car for 4 years ).

How is the motorsports scene (autox, rallyx, tracks/racing, and of course the subaru crowd) in this general area of colorado (denver and closeish surrounding areas)?

I went to CU, and had a subie out there... it was a blast! I know the UW area has a lot of subarus, but seriously, you will never see so many STIs, WRXs, and Subarus in your life than in boulder. The people there are pretty nice. There is a huge autoX scene out there. I believe there are 2 tracks, and i think the one down in colorado springs is going to reopen up. THey arent anything as special as the track out here in utah, but they def are fun. They are pretty small, so i enjoy them as they are a nice mix of autoX and full out track. Your subaru will never be happier playing around with all the other subies. The one thing that really sucks though about boulder/denver is the altitude,.... 5300 ft., so you will def be a lot slower than at sea level.

I went out to CU, and it was seriously the funnest 4 years of my life... i doubt those will ever be topped. I'm prob going to head back there next fall for grad school. I know some people that went to UW and liked it... i have yet to talk to anybody who didnt love it out at CU. Let me know if you have any questions.

Boulder/Denver/Colorado Ski resorts really know how to party and make sure that people have a good time. I go back there all the time, and miss it every time i come back to UT.
