Default power window problem

i have a 93 L sedan.... one day my power windows stopped working... there was a buzzing in the driver control switch... and then the next day there was no sound at all and the windows didnt work either.... fortunately it was closed... its weird because all the windows wont work... what could cause this problem so that i can tell the mechanic what to look at and not waste a ton of money having him look all over the whole car? please help me out ASAP because i have an appointment monday at 8am... thanks

mike

It's probably the main window switch. Try to see if your windows work with each window switch (on that door). That will help determine the cause of your problem.

i already tried replacing the main switch... ive partially solved the problem by running a new power wire to the main switch... now i (from the driver seat) can control all the windows. However, the other 3 switches dont work... i think the problem may be the regulator but do not know what purpose the regulator serves or where it is located... any ideas?
