Lightbulb Would this be ''Rice''? Flat black hood, trunk, and lip.

I was thinking of doing a hawkeye front end swap to my 02 blaze yellow bugeye but everyone Ive spoken to about it are telling me not to. If I do decide to keep the bugeye, I was thinking of doing something to it to make it look more aggressive. What do you guys think about me painting my cf hood flat black, along with a wingless trunk and a front lip (probably v1 or cwest). I like the v2 lip more than the v1 but I think a solid piece would go better with the flat black.

If your going to do that, you should go CF hood, CF trunk and either a black roof or you can order the CF roof through japanparts.com but its only a cover, it doesn't replace your current roof.

I'm not a fan of bugeyes with CF, although I hated a lot of things that grew on me after seeing enough of them.

Carbon fiber or bust
Either get it painted to match the car or get it carbon fiber.

Yeah I was going to do c/f hood and trunk if I went the hawkeye route. For the bugeye, I was looking for something a little different. I think flat black would make it look more aggressive.

I think painting it black w/ being blaze yellow would make it look very bumble bee like. and not the transformer so it wouldn't be cool...

Carbon fiber has a way better look and agressive feel than flat black.
At a distance yes its still the black look but with flat black, the gloss and flashy appearance isnt there as it would be by carbon fiber.

Dude my honest opinon is like I mentioned above. Either paint it to match the car or get carbon fiber. If your that obsessed with flat black, maybe you should just paint your whole car flat back

what you should actually do to make your car look more aggressive is sell me your headlights

When the time comes. I was just deciding if I should do conversion or not. If I do it, it will have to come after my 6 speed swap and 16g upgrade. Advan quoted me $700 labor for the swap.

Paint the car flat yellow, and CF trunk/hood. That could (maybe) look good. A picture of the car would help?...

I think yellow/flat black would look pretty good, especially if you do the roof too.

in my opinion painted trunks/ hoods black is rice because it its a imitating cf look
, i would not do it unless it was actual cf and even then i would need trunk/hood
and more goodies to go with theme.

Leave as is. A carbon trunk would look pretty good too though. I don't see the point in spending the money on carbon fiber hoods and then painting them. Stock hoods on our cars are really quite light, as far as I know there is hardly a weight savings by switching to CF, so it's essentially for looks. Also, if you threw a big autobots logo on the hood in matching yellow you would be a hero.

I know what you mean, Im definatly going to paint over cf. I would put a stencil on the hood/trunk when painting so it would leave a little cf showing when its done. I got the idea from another member who did it to his trunk. He has a pink cf sti logo on his carbon trunk thats painted stock color, very stealth.

Flat black = wanna be ricer aka the Toyota Turcel. Only the cheap honda's try the flat black. In short, don't do it or prepare to be flamed

I just keep thinking Dodge Rumblebee

Flat black over MBP/JBP/OBP would be cool, but yellow's too tricky.

Ditto. Flat black separate panels = poor mans CF. The entire car flat black, well that's a different story.
