Question Aluminum hood and trunk for 2k RS

I recently installed an alum. hood on my '00 rs. It is very light almost as light as those of WRXs. Now I want to replace my rear

kind of late for this, but for future reference...

the dealer I bought my car from told me it isn't recommended that you apply pressure for aluminum body parts. The hood aspect works find because you can hold it 4 inches above the lock and just let go and it'll drop into place. For a trunk which has resistance to fall, you'll have to slam it shut and the force you put on the aluminum trunk might bend it. I'm not sure if they have a model # for such a thing, but please take that into consideration.

I've also heard that the Subaru OEM aluminum trunk lid wieghs the same as a regular lid. the only reason it came to be was that at sustained high speeds, the ver.5/6 wings would rip off the trunk, neccesitaiting a thicker lid. It got too heavy, so they made it out of aluminum so that it wouldn/t effect wieght distribution.

any truth to that?

Did you ask the dealer about that trunk lid?
Because when I tried to get one they told me it was illegal for street use.
So, that's why I'm getting the CF one from adamsrs GB!
There's still one spot left if you want in! It weighs 10lbs and won't get dented if a rock or hail ball hits it!

If the aluminium lid is illegal how is the hood legal?
