....products will vary but it's basically a "one step" product that helps remove contaminants, oxidation, old product, etc. while coating the surface with it's own wax protection.

Generally it is a mildly abrasive wax that will remove some of the junk in your paint. I like to use Zymol or 3M Cleaner Wax, they have worked the best for me.

....yes. A QD is typically meant to add slickness and shine to a finish (i.e. between waxings; after washing). They can also be used to help remove light dust or contaminants. ....but not as a substitute for traditonal washing since you can scratch your finish if the surface is too dirty/soiled.

....it depends on the product. The instructions are usually on the box and/or the bottle. Most will probably be as simple as applying, letting it haze and then wiping clean. Just follow their directions.

+1 for 3M cleaner wax.

The trick is, only use this stuff once every 3rd wax.

I use Turtle Wax for my monthly waxing, and the water beads for at LEAST 4 weeks with a good "turtle waxing."

I used to go with really expensive waxes and polishes, but Turtle Wax pwns them! Easy to apply, easy to remove, and no swirls.

After a few months, hit the car with a good coat of cleaner wax...
