Default New! Carbon Fiber Oil Catch Can

Carbon fiber > aluminum > silicone.

I don't know about you, but if I can have something made of carbon fiber, and it's the same price (or close) as if it were made of something else...I'll take the carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is strong, lighter, and cooler. Am I wrong?

It comes with mounting hardware and hose for installation.

Carbon Fiber Oil Catch Can -- click me!

Click link for pricing, and shipping quotes. (Add to cart, enter your zip code, it's not hard, you can do it. )

Hi Mech,
I really like this catch can and been searching for a nice one for a little while. I have a 08 WRX and have not found any pics/tutorials of which lines to tap into. Would you happen to know?

Yeah. I'll see if I can come up with a simple diagram to explain it. (Runs off to MS Paint...)

This is from our '08 STI, but the plumbing on yours should be the same.

Did you know? Our solar system rotates around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy at about 220km per second -- or about 492,000 miles per hour.

i though Catch cans required to have a significant low temperature compared to the air circulating in the engine. making a CF would be less efficient than one made from aluminum.

Correct me if im wrong.

PD: the CF one looks awesome tho..

Huh? First of all, the catch can is not a condenser; it doesn't need to be cooler in order to work. It just catches droplets of oil. Secondly, any can is going to be the same temp under the hood once everything warms up, no matter what it is made of.

The inside of the can I can't really show you, because it's sealed up. In the first picture above, though, you can see that there's a little screen about 2/3 the way up the can, which would catch little solid bits.

Did you know? The rock Cumberlandite is an iron- and titanium-rich ore that is only found in Rhode Island.

The '08 WRX is going to be a tougher install, and the hoses are pretty much not visible from that view. You're going to have to take off the intercooler and tap into the lbreather hose that goes under the intake manifold.

This is a catch can, not an air/oil separator. There's no baffle in there, nor would that be a good idea.

Sure. (What's "etc" in this case?)

Of all the warranty claims we've ever had, I don't think any catch can has been one of them...

Did you know? Gunma Japan, where Subaru has a manufacturing plant today, was a center of horse breeding and trading in early Japanese history.
