Clark just finished my 02. I am very happy. 170000 miles and I'm done. He helped me through ecu problems, boost problems, and a misfire. I could not be more satisfied.
Thanks again Clark,
Ken

I have posted my experiences with Clark in this thread before, but I just wanted to reiterate how happy I am that Clark is my tuner.

I started using Clark's services a few years ago, and, as I added modifications to my build, continued to e-tune with Clark to make sure everything was running perfectly. (I log with the AP2 and LM2 Wideband)

My car was down for a few months with some mechanical issues...and by the time I got around to fixing everything and getting it up and running again it was probably more like 6 months, and perhaps a full YEAR since my last e-tune with Clark.

He still took the time to help me out, answer my questions, and even offered to review a set of logs to make sure everything looked perfect. This is a guy who stands behind his tunes and takes care of his customers.

It didn't matter that I am clear across the United States or that we hadn't done any tunes in the past year or so; he still took the time to help me out. And, of course, the Old Girl (186,000 miles on the stock block, 10,000 Clark-tuned at 350awhp) is still running great!

thanks so much Clark!

I could not be happier with my car and what i have done so far. I did an invidia Q300 exhaust with a catless downpipe, DW65 fuel pump, Cobb SF intake, and of course an Access Port. I got my tune from Clark Turner and my car runs amazing. working with Clark Turner is super simple also, he is easy to contact and responds very quickly and really does an awesome job. Car sounds great and looks really clean. I know there is still room for improvement, but so far i couldnt ask for more. Many thanks go out to Abel (EP Subaru) for answering all questions along the way and pointing me in the right direction with who to talk to and where to go. this is only the beginning and i cant wait til my next project.

I had Clark perform my stage 2 tune about a year ago. The car is still pulling strong as hell with absolutely no issues. I've been logging randomly every month or two and I haven't seen even the slightest bit of knock. I couldn't be happier and neither could my car.

With that said, I am about to install the below items and you can bet your ass Clark will be the man I turn to for the new tune.

- VF48
- STI TMIC
- Walbro 255 fuel pump
- Grimmspeed 3 port EBCS

I'd recommend his tunes to anyone, even if you have a local tuner across the street.

i just finished tuning my car with Clark yesterday night, which i will add the fact that he helped me around 8 at night is pretty awesome. i will admit he can be a bit sarcastic, guess if you got some soft skin you might wanna go to someone that wont be straight with you. Clark got back to me with the adjusted map at most 30 mins after i sent the information, relogged, sent again and he got back to me with in 10 mins. very satisfied in the service and the tune is great even provided a dynojet graph. thank you again Clark

I bought Clark's LGT stg 1 e-tune and couldn't be happier. He answered all my questions and the tune itself is smooth as silk, no stumbles, and gives tons more low end response and top end. Rev matching downshifts are now possible. WTF subaru, why tune a sport sedan to have sluggish throttle response?

Anyways, I chose Clark b/c he tuned my stg 2 STI many years ago in Texas. That tune was fantastic even though it was on the old AP1. I used it for many hot-a$$ track days and it never missed a beat. Solid all day. I'd recommend him any day.

Also, FYI if you are starting from scratch - He recommends using the AP instead of OS, I imagine b/c it has more parameters and whatnot. Just get the AP unless you want to tinker with your setup.

PROTIP - Buy the AP from him and get a map for free. Even if you pay retail from Clark, you save over $50 versus searching around for the cheapest new AP from the other vendors and buying his map separately.

This isn’t so much a review of his quality but a review of his character and function. I’ve known Clark since Lincoln was in the White House. There are damned few people that have been affiliated with our community as long as him. If this isn’t credibility in this industry, I don’t know what is. He’s helped me for $0 about 86 times over the years and tuned me twice (or is it three times?) using two different engine management systems both in person and with one of the new “e-tunes” that seems all the rage these days. He’s a terrific dude. Busy as hell at times, but always does his best to help.

As to the new “e-tune” stuff, it’s far more simple than I ever imagined. Instructions are on his website. You end up loading a map he sends you as a “base map”. You set up your AccessPORT for logging based on his instructions. You drive like granny around the block and log it. You idle for 2 minutes and log it. You do a 3rd gear pull and log it. Then you email that crap to him. The 3rd gear pull may be a challenge for city slickers as that’s up to somewhere around 80MPH, but luckily for me I live on the cusp of the boondocks so its only 5 minutes from my house to a “safe” country road for this.

Once he gets the log, he shoots you another map and you do more logging. Each car is different so you end up going back and forth for several emails. None of the process is hard and none of my email correspondence was longer than 24 hours with one day us doing three map/pull/log/new map sessions. My particular car took 6 pulls (I screwed up on the first one so technically 7). Super easy process though, so don’t fear this new e-tuning thing.

That's my assessment. True story. Don't run with scissors. Void where prohibited.

And you are very welcome amigo. And if you are a real friend, you will FedEx me some food from PoPo's or somewhere like that. I hate SW heat, but damn if it isn't the best food I've ever had in my life.

I have to agree with Unabomber. I just upgraded my 2007 stage 2 sti with a Process West TMIC and a grimmspeed EBCS. I contacted Clark with a request for an upgraded map on Friday morning and within 3 hours he sent me an upgraded map from my previous stage 2 map from a couple of years ago.

I installed the parts on Saturday and started the logging process on Sunday morning. I ended up doing 3 sets of logs and Clark got back to me within an hour on each set with a revised map. He worked with me all day on Sunday for 50 dollars. I find that unbelievable. The car is running fantastic and I couldn't be happier. Clark is the man and I really appreciate how quickly and efficiently we got the car tuned.

^^^^^+++++1. I have to agree. C was very fast with email responses, even working on the tune until after 10pm on a Sunday. I cant ask for more than that. I dont think I can properly convey how good the car feels after my stage 2 CT map! The power band is nice and smooth. It feels like a totally different car. You truly have a unique skill! Thank you for all of your support. +++++1 for a great guy and great tuner.

I just finished my Stage 4 map with Clark and couldn't be happier, I had an ugly leak after the first round of logs and Clark told me exactly what to look for to fix it. Before I knew it I was making power that I didn't even think was in the cards! I really don't think he sleeps either because no matter what time of day or night I always would receive prompt responses to all of my emails. Thanks again Clark!

Another happy customer! Contacted Clark on Easter evening and got an immediate response back. By the end of the next day, we had gone through logging and a map revision and everything is smooth now. Way better than the off the shelf map. I had tgv deletes done and needed a map to match. Clark said he had done this one many times before. Well, Clark may be going to hell with me for working on Easter, but I think he'll have a pretty good case before Peter at the gates. If your donkey(fellow naciocer) is stuck in the well(is stuck with a bad map), are you not going to go pull it out (even if it's Easter Sunday)?

I'm very pleased with Clark's service. He set me up with a nice stage 2 map that works well out here in Germany. He was quick to respond to my emails and like most others, i had my map within a few hours. I was running Cobb's stage 2 for a couple of days after my DP install, but it doesn't come close to touching Clark's stage 2 map. I'd recommend him to anyone who needs an e-tune vs a shop tune. I've had no issues with the map at all, the only CEL I've thrown since the flash was for O2 sensor issues which is more than likely from the catless set up.

Clark put the finishing touches on my tune this past weekend. The car makes great power and is super smooth.

Clark’s customer service is top notch. I rebuilt my motor last fall, but wasn’t able to get it fully broken in till this spring. I let Clark know that there would be a delay in the tuning, which he was cool with. I would send him logs late on Fridays and Saturdays and he would usually get back to me that night. I don’t know of many shops that are open late on Fridays or ones that are even open on Saturdays and Sundays, but Clark was. Thanks Clark.

Second time being E-tuned from Clark.

Was very pleased with stage 2 tune, and now extremely pleased with stage 4 tune.

No hiccups, great communication and customer service. I got exactly what I wanted in a tune, very smooth, good power and not pushing anything too hard. For the cost of the e-tune and the overall outcome, I can't see why anyone would spend the 5-600 on a dyno tune.

Once again, thank you very much Clark.

Clark is a great guy. Ive gotten 4 tunes so far! Always treats me well and goes over and beyond to make sure you get what you need. Provides great information! Always gives me a perfect tune and I recommend him to everyone. One time he said I had a vacuum leak and it took me forever to find it but son of a b**** he was right like always there was a leak! Thumbs up The only tuner you need?

I had a few emails to Clark back in November about some parts I was purchasing for a Stage 2 setup. There are not any tuners local to me, so I wanted to reach out to someone that could support and guide me a bit via email. The only thing he really stressed I needed was a walbro 255lph fuel pump.

Fast forward to this month. Finally got all my parts ready (swain tech was a bit slow due to holiday).

Mods:
Koyo rad
Crawford AOS
Walbro 255 FP
Element Tuning catless downpipe
3” M2 catback
PST carbon fiber driveshaft

The car is running great and I feel much better driving on this tune than the OTS, especially when catless.
Follow-up/Second review

I ended up adding a few things to my mods at home weeks later. TGV deletes and avo turbo inlet while I pulled the intake manifold for repairs. Quickly and easily Clark revised the map for these adjustments.

The past weekend I had a process west tmic, DW850cc, grimmspeed up-pipe, turbosmart compgate, and grimmspeed EBCS installed and tuned. I figured it would be easiest to have a shop install these, then dyno tune. I was wrong, I should have installed all this at home, then had Clark do some e-tuning for me.

When I got the car it was misfiring at idle, misfiring when accelerating, pulling timing, and essentially un-drivable. This was first attributed to the injectors or plugs/coils. After checking the logs and driving the car I had a feeling this was the map. The shop gave me a new map that was better, but still ran terrible.

Friday evening I emailed Clark for an assist. All Saturday he sent maps, had me log, and repeated till the car was great. The problems with the cat were not mechanical, but ECU tuning related. This map idles like/better than stock. Cruises very smoothly and has plenty of power.

All tuners are not equal. If Clark isn't the best Subaru tuner he is damn sure close to it.

Got finished with my first tune from Clark a few days ago. This was my first time using his service after reading the good reviews from Unabomber. From the start, I always received very quick replies from Clark and he was very helpful. After letting him know my setup, the whole process only took two tries in order to get it dialed in. After driving around for a bit I noticed that my throttle response was much better as well as the general powerband. The car felt like it just wanted to take off down the road. Never had any tune related issues or CELs during the process of the etune either. Currently running 303 whp/316 wtq with full boost of about 20 psi around 3500rpm tapering to 18 psi around 6000 rpm. Loving the power and drive-ability. Thanks Clark! Engine mod setup is below in case anyone is curious:

2008 WRX
VF-52 turbo
Perrin CAI
GMS Turbo Inlet
Process West TMIC
Forge BPV
Grimmspeed EBCS
Perrin TBE
Tomei ELH/Uppipe
One step colder spark plugs
