Default Need Help with Hybrid Build

Last night i spun a rod in my vf34'd 2004 wrx. After looking on the boards alot i have seen a couple threads on a hybrid build but nothing in detail. im wondering what all i would need. so far it seems to be an sti shortblock, gaskit kit, and all the sti stuff (565cc injectors, walbro 255 lph, and of course the turbo) which i already have. Also, what do i need as far as other internals like pistons, bearings, rods, etc. and should i/do i need to upgrade anything else?
As you can tell i am somewhat of a noob concerning engines. so if im incorrect on any of this i apologize. i just need to get my car fixed asap and dont have much money. i am open to any help. thanks,

I think it depends on your ultimate power goals. STi shortblock with stock internals can handle a bit of power - probably good enough in your case.

Check out the built motor forum. There are alot of threads about hybrid builds and alot of knowledgable people. Oh, you can add a tune to that list for sure.

i blew my 2.0 and have a hybrid now. lots of initialy problems tuning them because of false knock if you use your wrx knock sensor. anyways i had my heads port and polished and miled down because of slight warp. i had custom head gaskets made from cometic of multi layer sheet metal for low compression. ive hear the sti gaskets will be ok but still run slightly higher compression with wrx heads. anyways your gonna need injectors and a fuel pump as you know. now with the 2.5 the problem because not enough turbo... your gonna need a larger turbo on that system. i got an 18g and it works great but i almost wish i went with the 20g for my set up. prolly gonna wanna do an intercooler and a clutch too...
