Default Foglight choices for MY07, or MY06 for that matter

Hi everyone,

I asked this about 8 months ago and didnt get much information. Now that winter (and fog) is coming soon I thought I would see if anyone has used the following lights for fog use;

A. Hella Micro DE
B. Optillux 1000's
C. Anything else?

Show some pictures if you have any, thanks

Well amber obviously (3xxx°k). I dont have any fog lights, which is why Im looking at the Hellas and Optillux. Im sure SOMEONE has used one of these on a MY06 or MY07.

Anyone?

Are you looking to mount these in the stock location?

I'm also interested in some fogs, but I figured I might burn the extra $$$ and get a light bar fabbed too (Helps for not ruining the bottom of the car when that "pile of snow" turns out to be some kid's sled or a road kill).

Again Im trying to see what others have tried to replace the OEM foglight with.

Micro DE, or Optillux 1000's?

I can chime in some.... ..

I have a '06 wrx.. comes with stock projector fogs........ they are "ok", does help a bit in the fog.

I had a f-150 that I put in optilux fogs in (the reflector baised version).... useless... can't even tell if it's on or off...

I have a '08 LGT at home that has oem fogs (reflector version, not the projector version of the previous years)... useless... only way to tell if they are on or off is to look at the dash indicator..... so sad...

Now, on the same vehical (LGT) I now have added a pair of Micro DE's and they are very bright, covers the area up to where the low beams will reach nicely. IMHO they are well worth the $100 As for mounting it to the vehical in the stock location... U will have to get creative on that one

Thanks a bunch.
I'll be picking the DE's up soon. We'll see how it goes. I'll take photos in case anyone else is interested.

Rallylights.com told me once that the Micro DE was the best fog light with less than a 7" reflector you could buy.

scroll all the way to the bottom, the last couple pics are micro DE's. afaik, they are smaller than the stock fogs so they dont fit perfectly. But, you can make it work as he did. Output is obviously way better than stock. Hope this helps. Good luck
