Stick your thumb in it.

You could also measure the hose and go down to your local hardware store and find a plug that size. You could also call a company that supplies them with their BOV kits (such as Forge Motorsport) and ask them to sell you one.

Impreza WRX BOV 2nd thoughts

Thanks for the tips, I thought I wanted to get a BOV for my '04 WRX, now I think I'll just keep it stock, I'm not running a 20+ boost, and only wanted the sound which is not as important as a possible power loss, and leaking valve issues. Good looking out Dave.

I had an HKS on my Volkswagen and it was a nice sound, but I realized after all that it was unnecessary since my boost never exceeded 18 psi. I think I will def hold off on the bov for my WRX because like you said, I did get a lot of eyes rolling and people trying to race every time I drove anywhere!

So I have had this bov for quite awhile it sounded good for winter months now it seems like the spring is worn and going off much earlier now and it gives a high frequency sound after it goes off should I add another spacer.
Thanks,mike.

FWIW I decided to try an HKS SSQ just for the hell of it. I instantly noticed how clunky it made the car feel. When shifting into gears it almost felt like the throttle was hitting a wall before engaging smoothly.

It didn't stay on for even half a day.

Nice read, perhaps we can get myth-busters from the discovery channel to test out some of these blow-off valve theories. I watch it.

so what is the difference in buying a BOV and being a ricer or having an aftermarket intake and hearing the stock bpv and not being a ricer?

Cobb what? Why can't you get a bov with a turboback?

I have a turbo xs rfl that came with my car. and I hate it. If i rev my car, on down rev it will go below idle and then bounce back to idle. i've tried adjusting it many different ways. and for me, it's way to loud. I am just driving slow around town shifting at 3K rpms maybe hitting a max boost pressure of 1 psi and when I let off the gas it sounds like I've been shot.

That being said... Anyone want to buy a Turbo XS RFL???

Would anyone recommend the cobb hybrid bov? I'm thinking of about 20 peak psi on a different turbo, and I love the sound. Just wanted to hear if it leaks badly/sucks/makes redonculous farting sounds. Thanks.

dave, if you're still around reading and posting stuff... thanks for this info.. I'm fairly new to the mod seen with an 07 STI, (i wouldn't know how or where to stage it), but I've got some stuff done to it... now on the subject of SRT-4's... (coming from previous owner-although I swear I'm not retarted... lol) in any case, i must admit that when those cars came out in 2003 for 19000 dollars you got quite a bundle of joy at 250 hp and torque...with headers...it was nice... but then quickly moved onto the STi after I could afford it..now moving along... on my car I do happen to have the HKS SSQ blow off to atmosphere, (which it does as you say, sometimes makes no noise depending on how much i have pressed on the gas)...are you not a fan of the HKS? just curious, my friend who has modded my car is a subaru technician for 10 years...he thinks its great... I just wanted another view... and I value your experience, being the son of a mechanic (with absolutely ZERO mechanical skills, although I can read and understand things)i just wanted to know... thanks brosef.

why don't people ever talk about recirculating their vta bov's? it takes away from the "clunky" feeling that you're going to stall. all this hate for bov's, recirc them, and you're car runs fine.
