Post Auto-Xing Newbe, How to get started?

Hi, I'm from the Burlington (MA) area. I was wondering how to get into some auto-xing, I know there are events. But you need to go to some sort of school first. How much does this cost? Where is it?

I get the feeling auto crossing would be addictive, is it?

Thanks,
Ed

Wink

Start applying for credit cards and loans now. You'll need as much credit as you can get. Once you get into autox, you will never be satisfied with your car; always looking for that extra tweek and tune and aftermarket mod to help you go faster!

On second thought, give me access to your CC accounts, and I'll finish my car, while you watch and take notes.

Drive smooth

What kind of tires would you suggest? I'd like to sick with the 16's, but am considering lowering my car.

Cool

Oh and don't ever ask me why I'm draining my washer fluid...
Or why I'm spraying down my radiator and soon to be my intercooler...

- hehe HARDCORE!

Exclamation

Ed - I'd start on street tires. That's what 75% of the people there run.

Just show up with your regular car, run, and get a feel for it.
All the other crazy stuff will come later.

Thumbs up

Kris is right. Don't worry about tires until after you have some experience.

But if you are getting tires anyway, I suggest the Yokohama AVS Sports. It's a summer tire that's great in the wet and holds up well to autox. The only downside is the tire is noisy on the road.

Kris: I just can't compete with you anymore. You are too hardcore for me!
