Default Stock 2.0 with a 08 STI oil pump?

Just wondering if there woudl be any improvements to installing the 11mm pump when I am in for the timing belt?

thoughts?

you probably wont benifit much from the STi pump on your 02 even though the impeller is bigger on the STi pump than wrx. If you have a FMIC, the pump may help the cooling slightly since the FMIC blocks your rad.

Oil Pump.. not water pump...

There is a large thread about the larger oil pumps on here somewhere....

If you plan to spin your motor up high (large turbo / cams etc.) the larger pump can help supply more oil at the higher revs where there is some issues with the way the factory crank is drilled. The real fix is have the crank oiling passages modified.. but the larger pump does help extend the safe RPM zone a little higher. If you don't plan on spinning it up higher, it's probably a waste of money.

oops ..my bad..pwnd by reading this morning...but still dont think there will be much of a benifit, even at higher rpms because the crank isnt crossdrilled like the ej207.
The subaru oil will pump plenty of oil and should be able to supply as much oil for any turbo the OP chooses. Garrets blow out all the time due to too much oil if you dont put a restrictor on the suby.

Tell me about it-

I have two restrictors on my t3/t4, and it's NOT ball bearing.. so I should be able to feed it a fair amount of oil without trouble, and I'm still pushing oil past the seal....
