I have been working on this car for about a year and a half, and this is where it is as of now. The dyno graph is everything on the car except for the FMIC and gears. A perrin TMIC was replaced with the front mount. All of the work has been done by me, except for the motor build and the gears.
2006 WRX TR Motor: RAW1 (formerly AXIS) stage 2 block 1/2 mil over valves factory heads FP20G 7cm-internally gated,34mm flapper DW 750cc injectors walbro 255 Okada Plasma coils Perrin TBE no cat Perrin FMIC Trans: STI RA gears ACT lw flywheel Exedy Cerametalic Clutch ![]() The car is tuned via open source at 19psi on BP 92 oct. The tune was done on the road and the car was dynoed a few months later. Would like to see over 300 hp/tq with the FMIC and the P&P exhaust manifold going on in a few days. ![]()

those #'s seem kinda low for a 20g at 19psi, even with 92 oct. Looks like your car already has a fmic??

the pics are new. Yeah I was expecting a bit higher, but oh well. The car kept knocking everytime we tried to add more timing, so we kept it safe.

I was a effing idiot when I bought the turbo...that is why. I did not do near enough research before making the purchase. I am happy with it though. next will probably be a Grimmspeed EWG setup to draw out some more power.

what are your afr's??? I made 365 whp on a dyno jet with an external wastegate, but I doubt an external made that much of a diffrence.

That is NOT a good idea. From the look of the graph it's possible it was running very rich since a rough looking graph like that usually indicates that the coils/plugs are having a hard time lighting off the air/fuel mixture, but if it was that rich at 19 psi you should have been able to run a fair amount of timing which should have yielded far better number than you are getting. Not to be overly blunt, but I've gotten similar, if not better numbers on stage 1 (reflash only) STi's. |

either something is very wrong w/ your motor or your tuner has no clue what hes doing. I made over 300wtq @ 3500 w/ an 8cm 20g @ 20psi w/ low 11 a/f's.

Im wondering if he has low compression. Lately I've been looking into building my engine and I heard nothing but horror stories from those off the shelf built blocks. 19psi on a built block is nothing. Go to a real tuner that knows what he's doing.

I am not sure what an off the shelf built block is, but it was not preassembled when Ron got it from subaru. My factory heads were used. But yes I need to get a good tune in the car.

Perhaps as a point of reference, my '06 WRX put down 292/352 with just a VF43/STI TMIC/TBE and a tune.

Am i the only one that didn't miss it? This car was road tuned, then it was dyno'd. It was never dyno tuned from what it sounds like. Which would most likely put up another 20-30 whp or so once optimized. Or am i being optimistic?

Goodluck with your setup... I wanted a 20G really bad when I first started building mine up but the 2.5 has had such great results with the VF series turbos I went the cheaper route.

I think you will be stoked when you finally get it dyno tuned. Im sure everything is fine, don't worry too much about your less than normal numbers until you get a better tune...!

Why the STI RA gears and not a 6-speed swap or PPG's or even Mfactory if its a money thing ? Im sure you'll get the bugs worked out if you dont go to the poor house first.
