Default New Impreza owner

Good evening all,

I just purchased an 08 Impreza 2.5i, spark silver metallic, 5-speed, bone stock and I traded in my 05' Magnum for it. So far I like the car a lot. It handles real nice and has good power (coming from a 2.7l V6 in a 4,000 pound Magnum) and the wife loves it. Would have liked to get the WRX but it is what it is.

Anyway, I have to go read some FAQ's and do some searching on a few questions I have.

Later

Bruce

Congrats on the purchase. I'm sure you'll love the gas savings as well as the AWD. Be sure to upgrade the suspension for a better ride.

I do have some mods in mind for the short future, as long as the wife doesn't kill me first. Most likely rims/tires, exhaust, hybrid intake (I've been reading about it) and was going to look at the suspension also, but I want to keep the ride comfortable for my 30 mile (one-way) commute to work.

So we shall see. Thanks again for the welcome!

haha but he mayyy end up regretting not getting the '09 WRX like i do.

i recommend swaybars for the 2.5i since non-premium one comes w/o a rear, and a 15mm twig on the front.

Default I'm new to Subaru as well

I recently (2 years ago) bought my son a Flood Salvage 2002 WRX. Low miles and it looked clean. While driving from the RMV at about 3000 RPM, the engine blew up. Bits and pieces everywhere. He ended up getteing another car and I became a glutton for punishment. Determined to fix the car that I bought, I then purchased a low mileage junk yard engine. It gets better.

No regrets needed. While a WRX would be fun (or an STI for that matter), the base 2.5i fits in where I need it right now. In two years when my wife's Mits. Outlander is paid off we will revisit the situation. She has already expressed interest in trading her car in for a Impreza so I figure after hers is paid off I'll give her mine and go from there.
