Default Clark Turner email tuned...track results!

Keep it simple here...very satisfied with the tune...Clark has done about 14 revisions of the original map all done from my logging around my town.

Cars an 05 wrx with a jdm ver 8 sti motor and spec c ecu

Mods...
Andrewtech PPG helical 1-4 w/carbonetic 1.5way front diff
Blouch Dom 2.5r
PE 800's
APS inlet
Invidia g200 catless exhaust
Gruppe-s headers with gt-spec upipe
TGV less ver 8 manifold
Perrin front mount
Cobb short ram
ACT center sprung 6 puck and streetlite flywheel <---bad idea
Stock interior minus my 2 daughters car seats

Car is tuned by Clark for 93 octane running 22.5 psi

fastest run tonite
60'.....1.807
330'....5.094
1/8.....7.810
mph....91.16
1000'..10.125
1/4.....12.113
mph....114.30

I had various other runs ranging from the above to 12.30@111 area

These were done at No Problem Raceway in south Louisiana...sea level, temps in the low 70s and about 65% humidity no wind. The car will probably see 11s as is in the winter, but should go even faster when I pull the ACT flywheel off...the car either bogs or spins badly...I'm running off a 6500rpm LC patch we added to the tune.

Thanks for looking guys...big thumbs up to Clark for putting up with my aggrivating arse through the ongoing tuning/logging process Thanks buddy!

Trey

Nice run!

Get that 60' time down, and you might hit 11s! AWESOME.

Hey guys...thanks for the compliments...the motor came from JDMspecC in Canada.

The 60's are so high from the 13lb flywheel. I used to get 1.6-1.7s when I had the oe tranny and stock flywheel. I just cannot get the car to come out the hole like that with this flywheel. I'm already launching at 6500 rpm on the LC, so higher rpm there isn't the answer.

LWFW will do that to you, I also can not cut under a 1.8 60ft. Nice run!

i cut 1.7s 60ft's... with a lwfw... you just need 5500 rpm, and sticky tires and a proper clutch control quick lift.

No doubt you did with a lite weight flywheel on an sti...if I had a 2.5ltr and a close ratio gear box, the lwfw wouldn't have as much affect on the launch, but I have a JDM sti motor...still a 2 liter, and a PPG gear set...longer gears...I need that extra enertia to get my 60's back. 5500 on my car does nothing but bogg...been there done that. Trust me I wish it was easier than pulling the tranny again...I've had the car apart and back again more times than I wanted to...lol!

First off, congrats. Sounds like a solid setup.

Few questions:

1. What was your best before the engine blew? (I realize it was a different trans and different motor on a less than optimal tune) Just for reference.

2. Dog engagement or synchros? How loud are the ppg helicals compared to the stock gears. I know they're louder than stock, but would you say they're livable in a dd? maybe i missed it. Sorry.

Thanks. I posted this morning when I wasn't feeling so hot. I knew it looked funny

Great car trey. I think that is a perfect turbo for a 2.0L. You definitely have 11s in your grasp.

Having them however outragously expensive, is very reassuring!

I only ran the car once with the turbo on the old motor and tranny...It was winter time, with 40-50* weather, and it went 12.2@111...3 days later the tranny died!

Synchro box...just loud enough to let you know they're in there, but not obnoxious at all...I actually prefere to listen to the car rather than the radio...lol...I drive the car everyday...I actually have a daily driver...I just don't use it...more of a backup car.

Thanks man...still tweaking things, 11s for sure...lol...just gotta keep it above 11.5 so I don't get booted off the track!

NPR is a very nice track. I did a few track days there. The drag strip was 1st rate and the road course is just plain fun. Now roll yo butt to the end of the shut down and hang a quick left and then right.

Thanks for posting Trey. Thats a killer time for a 2.0 wagon on pump gas. This car has alot more in it. I think the biggest problem is the Clutch/flywheel like you said. Been down that road! This car should sixy down in the 1.6s and when it does it will run in the 11s everytime. I just like the fact that your drive it as a daily car and run on pump gas with those times. Not bad man!

I really mis my JDM 2.0 motor!!

Thanks Clark...figured the plug would be cool for you, plus I like to rant about my car...lol. By the way, its a sedan not a wagon...a wagon would likely have suited me better with the family duties and all, but no go. Its all about running on pump gas...I want the car to run at the track exactly how its capable of running daily. Its definately fun man...I'm gonna try and get at the flywheel this weekend...wanna go 11s before it cools off!

I saw Trey's car in action and must say it's impressive. It's so close to running 11's and have no doubt the stock flywheel will get him there. Seeing it launch at 6500 rpm with the two step is pretty awesome. As for me, I need more power as I got run down by a new jeep srt-8. I did get him off the line though.

Congrats Trey!

I know you will be in 11s soon. It is just a matter of time.
I still want you to drive my car (at NPR so I can see what it does with a good driver ) someday when I am back home.

Get someone to video you at the track. I want to hear it.

Nicely done man. Good to see more people are using the Dom 2.5r. I am contemplating between that and the dom 1.

Thanks guys...got the flywheel swapped over the weekend...I love pulling the tranny!........NOT! Anyhow, its done and launches like I remember before the new tranny and motor...NO boggs! Floor it, lift the clutch, and hang on!

Chad let me know next time you'll be out here, and we'll try and get together. I wish I could get someone out there with a camera. I'd love to have some coverage myself!

The 2.5r is really a cool turbo for the guys like me looking for a solid stock location set up. I bet it'd really rip on a 2.5 liter! Talk about instant spool up, and great topend!

Thanks again fellas!
