Default Running PC software on MAC

My lady uses a mac and would like to run a few windows programs on it. Does anyone recommend any software to do this?

I've been looking at VMware Fusion... but didn't know if anyone had hands on experience with a software application that they liked.

Seems to me your lady should get a machine that does what she wants, for 1/3 the price.

For free: VirtualBox
Commercial: VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop

(You'll need a valid Windows XP license for any of the above)

These programs all let you run Windows XP in a VM (hidden, with seamless application windows, if you like) and any Windows programs you want.

I use VMWare Fusion on occasion; it's nice and easy to use. I haven't used VirtualBox yet, but the price is right. I've been using the VM less and less as I've found native Mac equivalents for nearly everything.

Maybe she needs to run both Mac and Windows programs. Perhaps you could be so kind as to point her to the PC that is 1/3 the price of a Mac and also runs Mac programs?

What piece of software does not have its equivalent on a PC?

Uhm, see the thread on the same page of threads about running Outlook 2007 in Ubuntu. The same software (Virtual Box) will run in OS X as well.

Parallels= NO, fast inside of windows xp, but when you try to use your mac os, its SLOW!
VMware Fusion= yes, very fast.
