i have a 94 WRX motor, and im looking to upgrade the intake manifold...It is all stock v4 STi stuff taken off of a ej20k v4 STi type-RA... will this fit on my motor... because doesnt the STI intake manifold have more hoses and stuff...?

i want to do this because i have the slanty intercooler... and i have a extra USDM wrx intercooler laying around... i would like to use that..

Should be good with all the proper hose, pipes, etc. Don't forget the proper coolant crossover pipe on the block so you can use the under-manifold inlet.

why would need a new PS pump?.... does the intake manifold hit it? or is it not compatiable with it?

on the EJ20K the turbo had a stright inlet that went under the intake manifold. on your EJ20G it has a 90* inlet. thus in order to use the under intake inlet you would have to use a different P/S pump.

if you keep your TDO5h it sould not be an issue. as long is the minafold dose not interfear with your turbo.

throttle cable placement...its on the other side of the manifold, so make sure you have the right cable to make it work....from what i have read...2.5rs w/ modification, or wrx...but im not really too sure.

any dual cam USDM impreza throttle cable will work. only single cam USDM EJ engines have the throttle cable on the right side of the engine(1.8l, 2.2l and single cam 2.5 engines).

basically you can source one from subaru from a dual cam 2.5rs, and you should be good. This is what i will be using with my V4 STI type-RA swap.

i wanted to you to have all your options in front of you. more than one way to skin a cat you know? when i researched my swap people had two distinct ways, and i wasn't having either(waaay too costly). i did my STi swap different than anyone had mentioned. saved thousands in cash and saved tons of time just by thinking logically and outside the box. but if you have those parts avail great! otherwise rs and leggy PS pumps are swappable and easily had.

i did read daves post.

I see there is the turbo inlet on the manifold, but do you have the rest of the intake pipe for the V4 stuff? Im sure one can be sourced from a WRX but just something to think about as well.

yeah.. i am going to have to buy one of those intake pipes... cuz right now the BPV is attached after the turbo... and on the STIs and WRXs its on the intercooler... so i would have to replace it..

I looked at doing this conversion on my car for a while. I mocked it up and fiddled around with it and in the end decided that the gains were no worth it. Get an '06 FXT intercooler instead and keep your current intake manifold. There's nothing special about that STi manifold. The only advantage of the conversion is the straight through inlet. The USDM WRX intercooler isn't really much more efficient, and definitely not worth all of the brain damage. Now if you had the Ej20K intercooler, that might be worth it.

USDM WRX power steering pump with remote reservoir is the way to go if you proceed with this.
