Default A Small Intro...from an Evo owner :D

Hey guys,

I am sure I have seen some of you on the road. I used to own a Daytona Blue 350z with the plate [ZEATTLE]. I recently parted the Z in May and after much debate between the Evo vs. STi I acquired an Evo IX MR. I still got much love for subbies so I was wondering if you guys would be cool with me showing up to check out some nice rides.

Here are some pics of my car - obviously no longer stock I was eager to start modding her.
Evo IX MR

I saw some nice pics from one of your Alki thread and seems like its a very nice community. I actually bought my Evo from a WRX owner as well name Jason, very cool guy Also, my fiance is looking at a new car and who knows, maybe we'll end up with an Evo and an Sti in the same house

well, if you ever come down to PDX come hang. A guy I know back in CT ran his IX mr at an 11.64@117mph with a 1.58 on his stock turbo.

I think one of great things that will come out of the opening of Surgeline here is that the world of tuning will get greatly opened up to the eyes of folks from many more closed/exclusive communities (not saying we are one of them however). I love my Suby wagon (stuff it with stuff, stuff it into a corner) but the world of tuning is huge and meeting cool people with different rides rocks.

cheers.

Don't think there would be any problem with you showing up. I think the majority of us don't have any problems with the Evo as a car, more the majority of the drivers.

Thanks, that's awesome to know. As with any mature car enthusiast, I'm just interested in seeing nice rides that are well done As for my fiance if she gets into an STi/Evo or a G35 I'll be happy. Evo and G35 I would know how to work on and STi it would be the car I never had a chance to own and would be happy to walk into the garage to see both an Evo and an STi

That is great info to know. I'm always happy to find more mature and true enthusiasts to talk to. I always believed that the true enthusiasts are the ones that appreciate the car for what it is - not what the stereotypical view of the vehicle or its driver.

I appreciate that in a big way I understand there are bad drivers from every sector and unfortunately there are a few I know of that drives Evos. However, I have met quite a few nice, friendly, and knowledgeable enthusiasts from EvoM and NWEvolutions as well. I am hoping to differentiate myself from that stereotypical views from the public but it's hard when my car has a big wing ... oh and as some has reffer to it: shark fins LOL

I have a question for you guys....Why are certain cars like Evos and Audis acceptable to suby owners while cars like Toyotas and others are not? I'm just curious.

Sure did bro! It went like this

March '03 to Jan '07 - 1999 Acura Integra [RIP Sandrine -totaled in the ice storm of that year] Had her since I was 16! I put a lot of hard work, money, and time into her. She is my first car so no matter what, I will always love this car!

Jan '07 to April '08 - 2003 Touring 350z [Parted & Sold - she will be missed]
Bought her when I was 20 and while working and going to UW. It was hard but I have always been a fan of the Z car. Just wasn't the right car for the NW, I still love Z/G cars though.

April '08 to Present - 2006 Evolution IX MR
This car was the hardest one for me to obtain. Not because financially specific reasons but it is because I had to part out my beloved 350z, which I put a lot of hard work into so parting her out is something I never wanted to do again. But all in all, it was better than letting someone else drive off with something I created.

Nice Evo! I know what you mean about letting someone drive off with your creation, it's like they're going to get credit for all your hard work. That's how I felt when I sold my Integra. But it's all good, I hope you enjoy your new car as much as the old one.

Alvin thanks for making me miss the car It looks really nice I had wanted to do the Jdm rear bumper, looks good, especially with the volex rear skirt. Glad to see your enjoying it. What happened to just leaving it alone until you were out of school?

I'm not blonde, but I do have weird moments...I think everyone does haha I can see you a sweet tooth for rare cars...there are not many Evo 9 SE and definitely not a lot of the STi limited, I have only seen one - a desert colored one (is that the only color they came in?) around the Kirkland area.

Jason! Thanks again bro, I am - and have been - loving this car every minute I find myself going out for drives at night much more often than I did in my Z. Thanks for selling me such a great condition car and helping me through the process. I couldn't have picked a better seller to buy from

And yeah...I couldn't leave it alone. I immediately started ordering parts and bringing things together to make it uniquely mine. But on the order hand I am out of school...kinda I finished my undergrad @ UW back in June and now I'm working on an MBA program. I wanted to keep her as stock as possible but I guess it's in my blood Thanks again though, I was going to call you up to see how you're doing with the s2k!

I'd love it if my wife got an Evo, then we could trade rides once in awhile. Shes scared to drive the STI but if she drove a 22 psi Evo everyday that might change.

That is a hot Evo. Nicely done...

Super clean Integra, too. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Hondas. My first "fast" car was a swapped EG hatch that I built myself. I still miss it a little. Haha.

Maybe I should get an Evo to rival the wife's wagon, since driving my Ford fucass to work everyday sucks balls, and my arms get tired when i wind the windows down.

I remember seeing your Z at the last Golden Gardens meet.

Hope she found a good home!
The Evo looks awesome though, definitely a step in the right direction.
