Default New roommate concerns me a little

I've got two roommates now...one is a 20 something college kid and the other is a late 30's Oakland cop.

The college kid is fine...a bit of a dork but harmless.

The cop concerns me a little. He's ex-Marine and been a cop in Oakland a while now so needless to day he's rather jaded to the whole "life and death" thing to a degree.

He's sitting on the couch watching TV and I start playing Crysis on the PC. He notices and makes his way over as I'm getting pretty deep into a firefight. Suddenly he is standing beside me and as I man the 50 cal (or whatever the belt fed machine gun is on top of the trucks) he starts yelling "GET SOME! GET SOME!" as I fire into a crowd of computer soldiers.

He was really excited by that.

OK seriously he doesn't worry me, he's a really nice guy. But it was hilarious having this nearly 40 year old straight laced guy yelling "GET SOME GET SOME!!!" at a computer screen watching me play.

He's so Conservative if I even said the word "homosexual" to him he'd either throw a bible, holy water, or a bullet at me.

Probably in that order too.

Dude, that's what we are made into- it's somewhat normal, haha, for us anyways. You should challenge him on Call of Duty 4 or something...

I have a buddy who was in the Marines, who was medically discharged because he was "Mentally unfit". He's a bit of a spaz.

Which begs me to wonder, how ****ed up are you to be too "Mentally unfit" to be in the MARINES??

He absolutlely LOSES it when we play CoD4 or R6V/V2. If he gets killed over and over, he'll spaz and eventually leave. It got bad enough that he logged off one day, came back on an hour later saying he took the game back to the store and sold it.

He went back the next day and bought it again.

How long was your buddy in for?

I think that is just a personality issue; I've met people that act similar to that since I've been in, but it's not all that common. Jumpy, I can see why, I am for certain reasons; but being all spaztic is most likely just the type of person he is, we are all different- that's how he's different in this world.

Not too long IIRC. I'll ask him again next time I see him.

He's a good guy, he can just get a little off his rocker sometimes. Sometimes it seems like he's two different people. One moment he'll be really relaxed and telling people to chill out, 10 minutes later he'll be screaming into his mic about how the game is cheap and retarded and...yeah. Not to say we all don't get flustered when something like that happens, but I don't go sell my games and buy them again like he does.
