take your oil cap off just to prevent any vaccuum, slip something grippy on your filter like a rubber glove for grip...eat your spinach!

Go find one of these... if you can't get it off with that, burn it... lol...

Large channel locks will do the same, but they need to be the large ones..

sounds like you put it on much too tight though... Don't do that again! The rubber seal expands, so if you have it just tight enough to seal, it will tighten up soon after it has oil running through it. If you crank it down a turn or more after the seal touches, it isn't coming off again easily!

anyway, pound a long screwdriver through it and wrench it out with that.

I bought this filter wrench off ebay, it's a claw that grips tighter as you turn it as long as there is resistance, best one I've ever used... then my friend borrowed it and lost it

for a messy solution:

Drive a crappy screw driver through the filter, like this:
Code:
     | |
|||--|    |--*
     |----|
it will give you more torque on the filter but it will make a mess.

That's what I have. Uses a 3/8" drive ratchet...works great on RS motors thanks to the horrid header runner placement.

thanks guys for the input.
that was the most frustrating thing ive ever had to do on the subie so far. exhaust nuts and changing the spark plugs combined had nothing on that
i bent 2 screwdrivers trying to get that **** off. but i got
i def didnt hulk it on there this time haha

the girl upstaris from me was joking me though...

"changing oil is nothing, even i can do that!"

i wish i would have taken a picture of the filter after i finally got it off. i have to drive the screwdriver through it 4 different times!

it was tore up from the channel lock and he hammer and everything else. **** was crucial. i should have saved it as a reminder to never over tighten it again...

yeah i always. i never do anything any differently than i always have. so idk why it got locked on there so tight. i dont put them on there that tightly.
the ONLY thing that is different about last oil change and anyother is tht type of oil i used. i used royal purple 5W 30 last time. i dont think that would make a difference though...
