Default so whos rockin boost on there GC RS???

as topic says...thinkin about boostin the RS...start off with a factory WRX set up (Mani/turbo/ic and such, prolly sti pink injectors and either sti or wrx ecu...) and just wonderin what other low budget (but not ****) kits were?? i know the rule (Fast/reliable/cheap.....u only get 2...unless ur the ultimate bargan shopper lol) and im not looking for a real fast car, thats what the FC is for, but i feel the RS is missing something up top.....and i think boost will fill that void lolso yeah, lmk what u got!!!!

forcedairtech.com
gives you turbo, downpipe, up pipe (all of it ceramic coated), IC, FMU and engine mangement. i got one on my car an i happen to work for FAT. Its a great kit, the best quality by far. We put them on cars all the time and people love them.
Call robert at FAT 602-616-7001.

Really research your parts selection on your project before starting. The open deck 2.5l and the non-turbo tranny do not like alot of boost.

I'm running an EMU for EM. Sti headers and upipe, td06 18g, full catless 3in exhaust, FMIC and all the trimmings. I think I'm putting down about 300 at the wheels. I rebuilt from the ground up with low comp pistons, most ambitious project I've ever taken on but totally worth it in the end.

The last statement is incorrect. FYI the RS tranny is actually the same as 02-03 wrx internally but can take more abuse for two reasons. Higher final drive ratio meaning less gear loading, and a lighter vehicle meaning less gear loading. All in all the RS tranny is just as good as any other USDM 5MT.

your last statement is also incorrect the 05+ USDM LGT transmission uses the same gears as are in the 08+ wrx 5mt. They have dual cone synros(FINALY fixed the 3rd gear syncro design error) and are MUCH stronger than ANY previous 5mt.(type RA included) I have yet to hear of anyone breaking a LGT transmission actually...(but I'm sure they have )

Boost on your RS engine, is kinda like Butt sex with most girls. They will take it, but they don't really like it

Boosted for 3 years at 10 psi (Garrett T3/T4) on the stock block. Never had a single problem. Now Im running an EJ257 block and 16psi...

The tranny shifts like butter... and I autocross and track the car....
Drag racing abuses the tranny and thats why people complain about them breaking.

Yes I know that the new tranny's use RA gears but they also have a lower final drive ratio which leads to more gear loading. When compared to the RS transmission unless you change the final drive ratio it should for all practical respects hold just as much power because of it high final drive. Now you could put RA gears into a RS 5MT to acheive stronger gears and higher final drive which would be stronger than stock.

your right he's an idiot..03-07 impreza and wrx are the same tranny's my 2.5i is the same tranny ran in the wrx..minus a different final gear ratio which gives the wrx a greater top speed..duh....naw just messin but there the same.

if anyone knows about this stuff send me a message. I'm new to this sorta thing and I would love to put some boost into my 2000 2.5RS without destroying my car or spending too much money on a swap.
