I see you've got the perrin BCS. I dunno how it works, I know I couldn't get over 24psi because I maxed out the spring on my MBC+wastegate pressure

Weird with a Perrin BCS you should still be able to add more boost.

Wow, that is a sweet-looking curve! Especially for an Open Source tune!

Good work, dude!

If you think you've got a leak, it's time to build a cheap pressure tester.

Phatron,

What type of trap speeds do you accomplish with your specific dyno reading
400whp?

I had a similar setup, but never istalled it after I received my Junior tune on the stocker (115 traps). This is with 325 whp on an uncorrected dynodynamics.

If you were to tell me this set up is good for 121-123 traps, I would reconsider buying yet again another green set up.

Thanks,

Mike

Very nice setup. And nice spoolup with the 8cm housing.

I will not run those plugs anymore, I have heard too much saying the fine tips can get too hot and cause pre-ignition on high power setups. I used to run those on my last motor. Any reason you didn't go with good ole' NGK coppers?

phatron,

How's that gruppe-s flywheel? Throwing any codes? I've been thinking about getting one but sorta scared it'll start giving me codes all the time

i think the logger was messed up on that one, or i was in 5th....it was a very old log. the thing is i never log in 5th so i assumed it was 4th, but having never been able to duplicate it so that log had to be 5th gear. But 23.5 psi by 3700rpm isnt too shabby from what ive seen, but its still a far cry from the 3200rpm from that log.

yeah, thats why im pretty sure i have a leak. I tried turning the WGDC way up and it had no effect. Just havent really looked for it yet. I still think its strange that the boost looks so flat if there is a leak, i only lose 0.8 psi from peak to redline.

If you think you've got a leak, it's time to build a cheap pressure tester.

thanks, my neighbor has one...i am gonna try and do it today. I am thinking it may be a problem with the external wg...from my experience with most intercooler, intake manifold or exhaust leaks the boost should be dropping more, right?

I had a similar setup, but never istalled it after I received my Junior tune on the stocker (115 traps). This is with 325 whp on an uncorrected dynodynamics.

If you were to tell me this set up is good for 121-123 traps, I would reconsider buying yet again another green set up.

Thanks,

Mike
I have never been to the track with my green, yet. Battle of the imports is this weekend. i may make it down there.
I made 325whp on a dynolog, dyno dynamics and in airboys road dyno sheet on my 91 oct tune. 375whp on my 91+ meth on a dynolog and in airboys spreadsheet, then 400whp on 95+meth in the spreadsheet.
I would be surprised if i trap 120mph since i have never seen a green trap that high that i can rememer off the top of my head. The highest i remember is 118mph.

i have never really heard anything bad about the iridiums until junior said something before, now you. Maybe ill get some of the coppers.

what codes do they usually throw? i have never gotten a CEL with this setup. The only codes i have turned off are all cat and tgv related.

Phatron what software are you using to measure your power?

BTW: How dare you post the 16g WRX numbers over the same graph and show how little power my baby motor/turbo really makes!

So, for 95 AND meth, isnt this a bit on the rich side. With meth, I was running closer to 12:1. The only other thing I notice is the dip at spool up looks to be pretty significant. Any reason for that?

One thing I noticed is that your load is falling off to 2.6 g/rev at high rpm. That doesn't seem right as your boost is holding pretty well. The load at boost peak seems about right for 24-25 psig from my limited experince.
I have a DOM3 with a large top mount and am holding a calculated 3.1 g/rev to 6800 with 21 psig. Could something be choking your engine?

However, that is an awesome boost curve. I have an IWG and Perrin EBCS and I simply can't do that with my attempts at opensource (although I am only on my third set of tuning parameters). I always get 1ish psig of overshoot. Or are you maxing your (stock?) MAP sensor and overshooting and going higher that 25 psig on the boost?

Any chance you'll share your turbo dynamics parameters/WGDC's?

Hey Lets talk about that 430 wtq now thats impressive. Nice work looks like a great tune. Where the hell can you pull of logs at 4am? With my EWG it would be a 4am wakeup call fo many lol.

the load isnt really comparable after the maf's have been scaled. my maf is scaled low to lean out the injectors since i am running meth.

yes its rich....im trying to leave it below 11.5 until i get my egt in.

the rich dip is due to either the meth turning on or the maf scale. i have only had my car back with the wideband for 4-5 days so im just starting to play with the fueling.

i was tuned on 91 octane on a dyno dynamics, the retuned on 91+meth on both a dynolog and a mustang.

i am currently using airboys spreadsheet for the road dyno. it read dead on with my 2 other tunes so im ASSuming that the 400whp is pretty close.

airboys spreadsheet is available here....

^^ Thank you sir. I'd love to have that, and play with my various maps with it. I too am addicted, I was doing logs/tuning at 3:30 AM on Sunday morning , until my header cracked

interesting that you chose this approach over leaving the MAF table "scaled for gasoline" and then manipulated the "meth cells" in your fueling map. I found I had a bit more control this way than scaling the maf table.
