Thumbs up The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Name 2002 Impreza "Best Pick"

Dunno if this interests y'all, but I just finished watching dateline and was surprised to see the 2002 Impreza when I was flipping channels at 8. They showed it in a 40mph offset crash test and it did very well. Take a look for yourselves: Crash Test I know how we have a tendancy to drive like a-holes at times, but let's remeber that even though our cars do quite well in these accidents, others, well... don't.

Default sounds good to me

Well I guess all that increased stiffness helps the crash performance as well. Not really a surprise, but nice to see it confirmed.

Now if we can only lever this to get a reduction in insurance rates.

I get a kick out of the manufacturer's response: "Too severe," "doesn't represent real-world conditions". Nobody ever crashes at 40mph or more?

Interesting they crashed an RS, not a WRX.. Prolly chose the RS since it's cheaper. (That decision sounds familiar!)

As for insurance rates, it's all about your age, record, etc.. Got my renewal for my TS today: $900/yr. Good enough for me.
