Default Need Outback skidplate

ok so i searched and nothing came up that really answered my thought. so i heard the outbacks had skid plates stock from the factory. is this true and can they be taken off and put on a legacy? ive decided to go from lowered racer to off road dirt jumper!! haha so yeah let me know my options if anyone has done this or researched it.

I *think* the Outback skid plates were an OPTION, not standard.

They are made of steel, and are fairly small... basically they cover the oil pan nicely, and still provide easy access to the oil filter and drain plug. While much better than nothing, the level of protection they provide is only so-so.

Getting a RalliTek or other serious full skid plate made out of 3/8" aircraft grade alluminium is probably better suited to your needs. You can bounce of a rock at 70 MPH and keep on going. The down side is needing to pull the skid plate in order to do an oil change.

While your at it, you should also get a rear differential protector as well.

i went to the rallitek website and the only legacy parts they had were for the 05 + so i need ones for the bd.... anything compatable? thanks for the help

Subysolutions made one for a Legacy GT (97 I think) - it was on Bakergt's car. They'll be able to make another one if they still have template.
