I think there was a little bit more oomph according to mah butt dyno. I also did some light porting and put back mah stock BOV. This was just an upgrade to compliment a Vishnu stage0 in the future.

Here's a pic of the stock crap hose.

Here's da pic of the stock downpipe that the Vishnu Stage1 should fix. Notice half the pipe isn't used. What is not shown is that there is a piece that blocks half of that opening.

It didn't take too long to install if there are 2 people that know how the intercooler comes off. Its real easy to install once you do it once. I can't hear a difference but just by looking at the stock hose, the Samco ones look like they flow a lot better. I am planning to get black Samco hoses probably this summer so maybe someone might want these slightly used red ones later. There is a groupbuy going on right now I think for the Samco hoses for about $130.

those hoses look way better than the stock ones. that downpipe looks really restrictive, whos is it? yours? if that must be yours, maybe you are puttin some mods that we don't know about yet or maybe its Kris' i remember reading a post where he said he got an exhaust.

Winslow has the only WRX in town with the most mods on it. I only have a loud horn and Samco hoses.

Congratulations! Now you have reached the pinnacle where others strive to be. Go forth and spread your knowledge to the uninformed and remember the 3 words all specialists must know. " DO A SEARCH"

I already have the Stage0. I am planning an install soon as soon as I get 1 more gauge. I'll probably do some more detailed porting once the intercooler comes off again.

Cool

Winslow and Kris said they would help this Friday so just call up if you want to see a WRX taken apart. Intercooler off, sparkplugs changed, uppipe changed, ECU spliced, crankshaft pulley changed, boost controller added, stock gauge pod installed, etc.

You can get it off with some needle nose pliers or vice grips and some verbal persuasion. Hoses should take about a half hour to install. Intercooler takes about five minutes to remove and replace.

I'd like to start on Eric's car in the morning on Friday. Don't worry we'll be working on it all day. If were not here then you'll find us on the highway doing some tuning. He needs to get a different EGT gauge. Just a suggestion, don't get the band clamp EGT from Automter P/N 5247. Get a 1/8NPT to 1/4 compression connector fitting. It's more secure and less likely to leak.

Mike your a post whore. That last post was just to put you over. By the way CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Eric it's about time you posted those pics. How long have you had those hoses installed?

Dammit....well I cannot make it Friday, I have to work and then have a wedding to go to Friday night. I guess it was just not meant to be for me to do an up-pipe install.

Let me know when you guys are planning on heading over, and maybe I will swing by at lunch or something.

Those Samcos sure do look good though!

That down-pipe is from Winslows car I believe. When I do get my exhaust I probably will not be able to afford a full turbo-back for a little while

Yup that downpipe is mine. I'm not sure if we are going to do it Friday. Eric can't find an EGT gauge. Maybe we'll just do Bill.

Angry

F**k NAPA!!! Those morons told me they didn't sell Autometer gauges. I am a moron for believing them. Autometer sucks for having such a confusing description of their crap! I can't install jack s**t since I don't have an EGT probe. 5765 is the egt gauge but I dont know which probe to buy. 5744 is the POS with the vband clamp on it. Useless crap! Makes me miss my Honda more and more everytime.

Eric,

They have all the part numbers on the box I gave you. Do they have pictures of those on their website or can you find them on the internet. Did you try a search on here, I am sure someone has installed an Autometer EGT gauge.
