Default Should i run my U-tec in stage1 or 2 all the time?

Ok here is my question i have recently put a custom DP on my 07 TR it is catted with a highflow cat, now my question is since i put that on can i NOT run my car on stock mode anymore? Turbo xs tunes as such
stage 1: stock car
stage 2: TBE
Total mods to engine
1. K/N short ram intake
2. Duel port BOV
3. Cat back exhaust
4. Turbo xs U-Tec management system
5. Catted DP
anyone have any idea?
So far this is how it performs
stock mode: .9-1.0bar
stage 1 : 1.-1.1 bar
stage 2 : im affraid to try
i know 1.1 bar is about the max the car can handle,
But should i now run it on stage 2 or 1 all the time?

Eh, the car can handle much more than 1.1 bar.

Did you ask your tuner?

there are no tuners in my area i am my tuner with many many many years exp but i would love to have a Utec trained tuner tune the car but im in mass and maryland is the closest utec trained tuner at 500 per hr damn im in the wrong busness lol 1.1 bar is 15.9 psi the cars fuel cut hits at 17psi so i think im pushing it if i go to stage to and drive it all the time like that but NO boost creep so im really happy about that part i built the DP right!!!!

Stage 2.

You should monitor your boost and AFRs if possible after you switch to the stage 2 map.

1. stage 2 map from TXS peaks at 16psi, you wont hit the fuel cut

2. the UTEC handles boost control, if you install a MBC or even something like a Profec you're just overriding the UTEC, if you have a WRX the UTEC uses and auxilliary boost control for this... the ABC is not needed on an STi since boost is handled by the ecu.

i've got a UTEC on my STi, don't be scared to run stage 2... boost increase is minimal and the tune is SUPER rich to prevent knock.

Do not run your car with an aftermarket DP unless you're tuned for it. I.E. -> run your stage 2 map.

you are going to have to tune. I have not ever seen a utec base map that was very close on the afr's (rich rich rich) get a wide band and tune it yourself.

Stage 2 OTS map is horrid!!!

On my STi I was at 9.1 to 1 afr at max boost!! I was actually getting RICH knock. WTF!?!?!

Anyway, do the stage 2, but do some fuel tuning. It made a world of difference. Remeber to change some of your parameters too. Like boost threshold, wastegate shut etc. That little stuff helps a lot.

Have fun tuning!!
