Well after a year I have finally completed my build, I am very happy with the out come actually its more power then I was expecting as I wanted a conservative, reliable daily driver. I had Bobby at Performance Race Engineering tune my car all I've heard was nothing but good things about him so it was an easy choice. Well lets get down to things after a little mishap with some injectors and my AP I had to wait another day to get tuned. I ended up getting tuned by open source since Bobby preferd it. Well here it is.
Modlist: Invidia turboback Fp 20g 8cm 900cc modified injectors Walbro 255 fuel pump TurboXs shorty intake SSAC Fmic GM BCS This all put down 340whp 342wtq on 92 oct and only 17.8psi ![]() I just want to thank all the guys again at PRE for staying late and getting my car put together and tuned. Great bunch of guys down there. P.S. I know someone is going to say your on your stock tranny well I will be getting a sti tranny or some ppg's hopefully soon.

Nice graph there! That's a ton of power. PRE is awesome and Bobby is a great tuner.

Why only 17lbs boost? That turbo shines at around 21-22 lbs boost. The tune looks nice though.

Seems to have a lower boost threshhold than many 20gs - when do you hit target boost? Any obvious flow restrictions - inlet perhaps?
Looks nice and smooth, and great power for low boost! |

Yep, if you were to read the last paragraph in my post I will be getting a sti tranny or ppg's whatever I can get a good deal on. As for the stocker holding up Its only been a couple of days since I got tuned so its to early to tell but I am not that hard on my tranny to begin with even before I put the 20g on. As my tuner said dont launch the car and dont redline it in first. And then he said it will last you for a long time if you do that and wait a second or two when you shift but once I get closer in funds to buy a new tranny I probably wont be listening to that ![]() |

From what I've seen and heard they are weak. Although if your careful like I said it will last, but its not that fun not being able to go all out so will see. PRE actually has a wrx that has 400whp although its on ra gears its just as weak as a wrx tranny and they have had that setup for a couple of years. So for now I'll enjoy this power for a while and once I get bored of it I will go in for a another more aggresive tune.

That is a nice curve and only on 17.5 Damn ! I would personally like to see the threshold a little sooner but power accross the band is good and builds pretty exponetially ( spelling ) nothing about that tune is harsh and if you drive it like a human the trans should last for quite some time . I myself have been battling between a 18g or a 20 and I am pretty sure I am going to go 20 after seeing this ...
some questions if you dont mind ? how is low rpm response ? if running at low rpm say 2500rpm in 3rd or 4th and you hit it is it lazy like you have to down shift to get decent power or will it pull through it ? ( not trying to race anyone just passing in a daily event ? is it loud ( the turbo that is ) |
