Default 09 wrx or 05/06 sti

I have been wanting to get a 05/06 sti for a long time. Then the 09 wrx comes along and it is such a great car. What can be the pros and cons between these years? A new 09 sti is too much money though, and as days go by, the 05 06 sti become more and more old, getting higher mileage and abused. I have been looking for some time and can not find the right one. If i was to go out and get a 09 wrx, i wouldnt want to go back on it and wish i didnt get it and waited for a sti to come along. What do you all think? Thanks

I would get the sti if I could find one in good condition and a good price.
the reason for me would be the 6speed and diffs.

also both cars look totally different so it depends if you want another wagon or a sedan.

the interior of the new imprezas look and feel way nicer too.

STi man.
I like the sedan looks with the wing.

Unless you don't like the boy racer looks.

Besides, the 05-06 Stis will become less and less available but Subaru will keep making the current generation.

06 Sti for sure. Just because you will have to replace the engine if you mod it. But the tranny will be good for a bit. If you mod the new wrx = warenty is bad, and besides the engine you would have to do the tranny too lol

The 06 STi looks the best IMO out of all them and the 05 was one of the best STi's made.

09 WRX.. some people would say why spend 10k more when you have an awesome base to work on..

BUT if you can afford it, go STi..

Truth

And the brakes, wheels, wheel bearings, the fact that its a way more serious car than any wrx.

STi; just be willing to look long and hard for an unbeaten one, they are out there. If you can't wait, then get the '09.

Wait and find a good deal on an STI. They are most likely going to have some mods, so make sure that they have the good mods. The STI can take a beating anyway. Plus it can always be an excuse to build your motor!

I agree with the STi choice... and they aren't that much more than the 09 wrx. Theres one for sale in MAIC if im not mistaken with only 9,5XX miles Good luck with the search!

Unless subaru wants to keep closing the gap from wrx to sti, the wrx will never be an sti. The 09 is sweet, and you get the comfort of having a brand new car, but IMHO the sti is still a tank. The transmission is bulletproof, it comes stock with great power, and there are less mods for the 09 right now, and you will pay a premium for the first couple products for it.
