At the Track expected more out of my wagon

a little about me and my wagon. For those of you who dont know, almost 2 years ago I bought a 2002 wrx automatic with 48k on it, the wagon was clean like a babys butt but I wanted more power but I didn't to cahnge my tranny to stick, along the process of looking and researching every website and everywhere I learned that STI swap was the way to go, I search everywhere for the engine and tranny with harness and the price were in the sky and that wasnt including labor plus the brakes and the dccd wich I learned about soon after I bought my car, so I decided to go to the auction and found a 2007 STI With only 7k on it the car was rolled over but none of the air bags were deployed I bought it for $9k and took it appart to put everything on my wagon and thats how I got a Complete 2007 Sti swap oh and for those of who keep asking why I did that for instead of fixing the STI I didn't want a sedan I wanted a wagon. anybody can just go to a dealer and get an STI but STI wagon it's something you make and make you stand out everywhere you go. anyways my 2007 swap incl. complete harness from headlights to tail lights, trans, diff, eng, dccd, brembo fnt/rr complete suspention swap, plus some other minor mods like APS Fuel Rail, DeatshWerks Fuel Injectors 750cc, Denso High Flow Fuel Pump 255, Spt air intake, Borla XR-1 Catback Exhaust with Invidia Downpipe

Post a complete engine build/mod list including anything power-related. That would help.

Car looks good, BTW.

I agree. You can bring your ET down by a lot just by changing your launch. 2.1 is slow. Practice and I'm sure you can get it down. For a good list of tuners, check your local forum. And a full mod list please...

A: What are you launching at?
B: Where are you shifting at?
C: How hard are you with your shifting? (I am serious)

A friend of mine ran last night with a VF43 protuned setup and did this:

R/T.... .875
60'...1.891
330...5.470
1/8...8.468
MPH...85.51
1000...10.938
1/4...13.098
MPH...105.13

Even with a perfect 60', I don't think it'll get the car to where it should be.

You are getting 20+MPH in the last 1/8th I think your motor is pulling well, just work on the launch.

So what if he can't drive it when there is obviously something wrong with it.

An STi or STi swap should trap over 100 even on a poor run in the weather we have been having in the NE. Your modded car should trap over 105 easy. There is definitely something amiss and yes you should take it to Junior and the Shop CT, they will get you straightened out. Good luck getting it sorted, it looks like one sweet wagon.

I think 20+ MPH in the second 1/8 means the motor is pulling well.

The slip that had a 105 trap didn't add as much in the second 1/8.

I agree 100%

Yes he's not driving well, that is obvious

But the car is not running well at all. 98 mph is way off what it should run. You have issues, either mechanical or tuning.

Did you take the rear doors and rear quarter panel from the STi to get the fenders in the rear? Or did you do body work to stretch them out? Car looks awesome man.

Two things. You spent all that money but didn't bother to get it tuned? You absolutely need a tune for maximum performance, and to save yourself even more money, which leads to point two.

The 07 STIs have had quite a few ringland failures. Running without a tune just increases your chances of having major problems. But it's your car, and your money.

Something still doesn't seem right. Even with a bad launch (2.0+) I was trapping 107 with similar mods. Also, 77mph in the 1/8 is slow as balls, but picking up 20+ mph in the back half is decent.
