Unhappy Ej20g fan wiring issue!

Quick question guys,
So far my swap has been running well, aside from this cooling issue ive been having.
I know i know, i should not use stant thermostats but i got it for free.

When driving on freeway, the car loses temp. after a few pulls, the needle begins to drop below normal. Im thinking this is either the fans or the thermostat issue.

also, once i pulled off my bliz nur spec, i was able to hear my fans running. They dont run when the car is idleing, but as im slowing down, i can hear them shutoff.

any ideas??
someone told me their probably wired wrong.
Thanks Guys!

Fans are mostly ineffective over 25 mph, so your freeway issue is most likely due to the stant thermostat or a temp sensor problem.

I agree. It sounds like the thermostat to me. My reasoning is if the fans kick on, but not at the right times, It would be the unit that controls them.

Are they two wire or three wire fans? Are they the stock fans?

You got something funky. If your loosing temps on the highway in norcal, you've got a thermostat/water pump/coolant flow type issue, not a fan issue. I agree with all the other posts above, your fans are actually a hindrance to cooling at highway speeds. So if at highway speeds your loosing temp, I'd look first toward the thermostat.

Yeah man,
I see what your saying. Honestly my car is a miracle in my opinion. I cannot believe it has stayed alive for so long. I went into this swap not knowing how to change my own oil. I came out of it with an intricate knowledge of my car. Now that im almost done with college, im still trying to fix the stuff i screwed up when i was in high school. This is a closed deck block 94 ej20g, and i beat the living crap out of it. I never beat on it cold, and i always let it idle down afterwards, but theres nothing better than throwing big flames merging freeway speeds at newer STi's. i dunno what to do, the car just loves freeway pulls. think i may need some help soon though, my car sounds like the tensioner is going out, or some really funny rod knock, only evident at 3k-4k rpm, anywho anyone wannu help assemble my spare motor with new headgaskets??????
Ok guys sorry for the rant,
Im just really drunk right now, and need to vent frustration with my car.
