Trying to decide what car to get. These are from local dealers and one is a private seller. The first 2 are dealers and the last is a private seller
Here's the link to a 06 STI with 39,000 miles for $23,995. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/img_po...8&photoIndex=0 This one LOOKS like and STI, but I'm pretty sure its just an 06 WRX Impreza sedan just with an STI logo on the back. Im not sure if this car was modded. It has 40,841 miles and is going for $20,112. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/img_po...1&photoIndex=0 This one is from the private seller and it is a 04 STI. It has 74,000miles and is going for $18,000. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/img_po...7&photoIndex=0 What do you think is the best deal over all and would be more bang for your buck, but also be a good investment in the long run. With our economy kinda poopy right now(usa) what do you guys think would be the smartest choice. ![]()

This a decision for YOU and we cannot help. Variables:
MPG car's use insurance costs monthly payment your car payment your local taxes first hand looking at the cars to see what if anything was done to them first hand driving the cars to see if there are any quirks/problems to them |

In a perfect world for the most for your money I would go with the 06 Sti, but WTF? Where is the shift knob?

Get the 06 STi. The 04 isn't as nice and WRXs with STi badging are mega fail

The second car is a Wrx, no Brembos and doesn't have the lockout Sti shifter, and the 04 I would be leary of due to stock exhaust and an ACT clutch sticker on the back window.
Oh and just for reference the 04 I believe has the 5x100 hub pattern where as the 06 Sti has the 5x114 hubs which I do believe are stronger. If it were me I would want answers about the 04 before touching that one. I think that the 06 Sti is the safe bet, but double check the cars first. |

And as far as the shift knob, just gives you a excuse for a kartboy short shifter! Id say the 06 outa all of them. The wrx/sti clone was probably drivin by the dudebraa check out my race carz, and the 04 has a good amount of miles on it. But that might not matter if your gona rip everything out of it anywho. Like una said, you need to decide on alot of those factors. Thats a pretty good price for a 06 from a dealer btw...id say if your NOT gona molest it, get them to toss in a extended warranty and drive off the lot with that one. |

If there was less mileage I might lean towards the 04, and while 70k+ miles is not high for a Subaru, its still not a low mileage car.
I picked up an 04 with 39k in miles for $19,000 this past month....either way though, get an STI...you won't regret it |

Personally I think it really depends on your $$$ situation. If you can afford it comfortably get the 06, but if you will be stretching to make payments etc then definitely get the 04 (although I would try for more like 17K). Nothing will make you hate a car more than it eating up all your money.
My 04 STI has 100k miles on it and runs great! ![]() |
