Default 555 Motorsports and DS1 Motorsports Present -4k RPM Powerband Thread

I am setting up this thread in honor of 3 cars that I tuned this trip. We talk all the time about proper set-up and good powerbands...here it is.

I have 3 cars that display this quality of power.

Let's start with the 2006 STi w/ the VF37 Twin-scroll set-up.

You have seen the thread before about it, but here it is again.

Modlist

-Spearco TMIC
-Nismo 785cc Injectors
-SPT Short Ram intake
-JIC Titanium CBE, with custom JDM flanged Downpipe
-VF37 Twinscroll Turbo
-Tomei Header

This car made amazing tq for a VF-series turbo on a MUSTANG Dyno

It made 353 WTQ and 287 WHP. I will have a before vs after for with and without the TOMEI header.

353 WTQ on a mustang dyno is crazy, this is a dyno that reads roughly 360 WHP on a GT35r on pump gas.

Definately looking forward to some more of the Tomei dyno graphs. I really want to see what that thing can do.

it'd be interesting to swap the arms turbo for a "regular" mitsubishi turbo in the same setup and see what's really making it great, the turbo or the overall setup.

Yeah, mine's definitely a bit lower than 3350, but because of the amount of parameters we were logging on that run, the logger couldn't space the RPM's any more closely.

Should be easy to find somebody with a VF that is going to be upgrading to a tomei.

Do a few pulls with the VF, install the tomei without changing other mods, retune.

I honestly don't know why you want to see it next to a VF... it's more comparable to a green or a 30R

The powerband is how long your eyes are in the back seat.

For me, it's from about 3500-8000

The idea of the thread is to show people that lower peak power, but more useable power is actually not too shabby.

^^^^

Isnt useable in the eyes of the beholder... I.e just because a larger turbo comes on later dosent mean that the powerband isnt useable at higher rpms..
