Default IS this REAL numbers or exaggerated?

I was on the Perrin website and was looking at the AccessPort and they claimed a huge gain for the 08 WRX tune with stage 1, around 65ft lbs and 35hp. I am in the market for one and was curious if those are flywheel numbers or at the wheel numbers? I am guessing it is awhp since it seems like they added a couple pounds of boost. Here is the link to what I read.

It will depend. You never get what is advertised.

It says right on the page WHP. But this isn't the right forum for this question, so let's go for a ride...

I am planning on ordering one tonight or tomorrow and that one looked like the best gains on a map that came with it. It looks like a lot of maps you have to purchase so I was trying to find one that came with a good preloaded map on it.

Sorry... I realized it said whp but didn't know if anyone else bought the map and could say that it actually is around those gains or not..

Every car will respond different to every ots map. Numbers are just numbers. They are meaningless. You can have 400whp on one dyno and 300whp on another.

I havent had the car Dyno'd but I picked up the Perrin Stage 1 map last week with an access port from them and my gains have been substantial. I have 2 friends with 08's both of whom are now considering ordering this from Perrin, the car pulls MUCH harder imo and I dont think its placebo as both my friends agree it drives like a different car. Ive seen a few dyno sheets around the net with guys hitting 225 - 235 WHP and 280 - 298 lb ft of tq. Check out 3gwrx there are a couple threads there, but I cant tell you how happy I am with this map so far. Im running the Stage 1 93 octane map fyi. There numbers look to be pretty accurate based on what I've seen around the net though and Chris and Adam are awesome, very helpful.

Much appreciated!! I think I will order one from them then. I know numbers are just numbers and all that but if it is a that big of a gain over stock on the same dyno that is pretty good gains.

Well the 08 WRX's are pretty detuned. Get a TBE and go Stage 2. Then, you'll be really impressed.

I am debating on doing that... leased... not that I can't sell the TBE before I give it back if I decide to do that. I really like having heated leather seats in it and such. I may get a downpipe and have a catback made for me some time. I know I am dumb for SLIGHTLY modifying a leased car but I have thrown away a lot more then $1500 on a car and only had it for 2 years (longest I have ever owned a car). I think thats the new plan, downpipe and AP from MAPerformance since they are 30 min from my work, then I can get the stage 1 performance deal for $700, then just have to decide on a dp.
