Default T-Mobile G1 Anyone?

I'm intrigued, and already have T-Mobile. Anyone in Mid-A have this phone? Experiences?

i'm playing with one here in cali. it's not bad for a 1st gen phone, but it has a lot of room to grow.

We were talking about it in one of my classses the other day...... I think I spent the rest of the class on my computer looking it up instead of paying attention.

This is going about as I expected. I want to see how the phone does on the non-3G network.

I got to play with 240SX Dan's G1 two weekends ago. It wasn't running 3G and it was pretty slow. Like 30 seconds for a wikipedia page load or something like that.

But Philadelphia has 3G so I may end up with one.

lol it got more attention than i did. between her phone (even when she had a sidekick) and my tv, i dont think it mattered if i was there or not. i dont get down like that so i had to kick that to the curb.

Nope.

I'm still on a crappy, broken v3c...

Compared to that web browsing on any other phone is f'ing spectacular though...

I can't believe this isn't 3G. I definitely wouldn't be interested. Blackberry Bold FTW.

It is 3G, but the only T-Mobile 3G network in the MAIC is Baltimore. I guess the drug dealers need to communicate really quickly?

I'd probably wait for the second generation... personally from the reviews I have seen the Iphone is the much better way to go right now.

There are supposed to be some changes in the next set that ships, but nothing major. I'm probably not going to buy without trying, so there's no real hurry.

VZW and Android? dont hold youre breath. jump ship now.

I misread that but for years motorola has lagged behind.. they make some of the worst phones now and it's not likely to improve anytime soon. http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/1...handset-divis/

The G1 is an HTC phone and HTC is on fire right now... all their stuff is kicking ass. Right now there isn't a better phone then the iphone. (very cliche I know) I don't even like macs.

i messed around with one at the tmobile store. it looks like a more grown up sidekick. the os was pretty cool. i still like my iphone 3g better tho. the OS is so much simpler,BUT the G1 has a keyboard which is a plus. the worse thing is tho if you use over 1 gig of data transfers between email, browsing, and watching videos tmobile takes away ur 3g data for the remainder of the month and u are stuck with slow ass data services

There is a huge speculation that Verizon will adopt the LG variant when it comes out Q3 of 09 Chances are Verizon will put a huge strap down on it if they even accept it...

Only thing thats holding me back, I travel all over SWVA and having a signal is important... I've tried every other carrier and they don't come close to the coverage... shame if LG pumps one out we'll at least be able to get it on the network although it may cost an arm and a leg.

They repealed the 1G cap not long after it was announced.

I don't doubt that andriod phones will do well and maybe dominate... but without 3g they wont be very much fun.... so maybe unlock a G1 and carry it over to AT&T? or just get a 3g iphone.
