Question What model/year gauge clusters will work in a 02 Impreza RS?

Ive read that 05+ STI can be used with little modification, however since I have an Automatic RS I don't think the boost gauge will do me much good. I've seen plenty of clusters on e-bay from baja's, legacy's, and foresters and the plugs all look very similar. Anyone know what years are compatible?

Thanks.

Is yours working or is it broken?

I'm trying to figure out what you are trying to get out of the swap.

04 STI cluster fits the best as far as dirrect swap goes.

Mine is broken, the only gauge that works is the engine temp. Im looking to swap entire cluster for a working one (with little modification if possible.)

Also, if anyone has one that will work please let me know.

You should be able to direct swap any 02-03 2.5RS cluster, maybe WRX cluster as well (I'm not possitive) but there are a bunch of people who have old ones from swapping out to STI, you might want to go post in the want to buy forum looking for a direct replacement.

Good point, will do. Will I have any problem switching my automatic cluster to a manual cluster? I know that it wont have the 'P R N D 3 2 1' between the fuel/temp, but that doesn't bother me as long as everything else works.

I'm not exactly sure if the pinout is the same, you could always look up the part #'s online, if you can pull your old cluster you can call a dealership and get a price quote for a new cluster.

The one thing you're going to have to worry about is: Your odometer reading is stored in your cluster itself not your ECU, you need to have a professional shop calibrate it to reflect the correct amount of miles, then they give you a cert.

I am aware of the mileage issue, not a big worry of mine. Just want to make sure I buy a compatible one.

There is an 06 WRX cluster in the FS forums - anyone know if its compatible?

I just put a cluster from an 02 wrx manual in my02 automatic RS; works perfect. Couple differences: speedometer raised from 120MPH to 140MPH, tach's redline is at a higher RPM, and there is no light between fuel and temp that tells you what gear your in. Everything else seems to work 100%
