Default Mach V Dyno Day 11/1/08 Recap

Here are some results from last Saturday's dyno day. Dyno is an AWD Dynojet. Conditions were around 60-75 degrees F, dry. Car is pictured, followed by dyno chart.

When there's not a torque reading, it's because we didn't get a clean tach reading with the inductive pickup. Or because I just wanted to make the graph clearer.

95 Civic with B20Z engine, LS head.

'09 IS-F

95 2.5RS, auto trans

Center diff not happy! This is front wheel speed graphed against rear wheel speed. We didn't get any complete hp pulls.

'08 MS6 with AccessPort

Hey, AP works! Bright red is WITH AP, darker is without.

Evo 9 MR

02 WRX with JDM V7 STi engine. 2.0 liters.

'08 FXT, Blouch Dominator 3, other goodies. Methanol injection.

The red is the non-meth map. The blue and green are the meth map, but things weren't working right, so it would spike up to 25 psi, then go back down to 15psi, probably because the meth system was signaling a problem.

04 MINI Cooper S

02 WRX. Stock turbo, exhaust, AP, no TGVs.

06 LGT (far right)

At its previous location, stock WRXs did around 165 on this dyno. I don't know if that changed when it was installed at the new shop though. Or if it even would change.

AVO top mount, turbo-back exhaust, AP ProTune by me, K&N intake, catless up pipe. I'm not sure he has a screen name on NASIOC.

Nicely done Dan! I need to come check out your new shop! Is it close to the old location?

Also wondering what kind of turbo was on that white Evo MR?

Yes, it's about three miles away. Directions.

GT3076R. He didn't have a boost gauge, so I don't know how much boost it was running.

Dan,

I've had problems, so my dyno tune is postponed at least 2 weeks.

wow big tq numbers from the FXT. That must be fun to drive.

Nice numbers from the LGT as well. I have all those mods except the TMIC and dyno'd about 40whp less.

That looks like lilsix's FXT. I saw that thing shoot flames from the exhaust on the IAG caravan.

Dan,
I just saw that the price for a TMIC is dropping like a rock
http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99222
Is a tune needed when adding a larger TMIC?

Generally not, but a tune with an aftermarket TMIC can generally be more aggressive (and make more power) than one without. So a tune is not required, but will help you get the most power given the parts you have on the car.
