Default Heartbreaking GT30R 1/4 Mile Run Video

Here is the last run of my day that made me cry on the inside.

I would talk about the time but when you watch the video you'll understand the HEARTBREAK.

Probably because he's 0.1 from saying he made an 11 sec pass. That's my guess.

11's are close! Maybe try a little weight reduction if possible or go on a cooler day, you will get there.

Thats exactly it. I was soooo pissed that I was hundreths off that 11 second pass. I no doubt could do a little better.

This is on a 93 Oct tune

60' 1.761
330' 5.039
1/8 7.721
MPH 92.12
1000 10.012
1/4 12.003
MPH 112.37

you'll get an 11 second pass soon enough man... you just need a bit better launch and you'll get it...

that 1/8th mile is booking it.

I was in a similar situation on pump gas when an Intercooler pipe blew off at 1100ft and I ran a 12.005

Talk about furious.. I went back the next week and went 11.9 on pump gas so don't feel bad =]

Wait, you ran that time with a 30R?
LOL, I'm sorry, but what was the point of the turbo if this can be achieved relatively easy with the VF39 on meth or E85 now-a-days?

Hes running 93 octane. Im sure he could do ALOT better than that with a bit of a better launch and e85. I mean I have a hard time getting in the 12s on my 20g with 93. That and accomplishment to be .003 seconds off of a pass in the 11s on 93.

Sorry, but that is horrible lol

12.0 @ 112 can be done on a stock vf39 and has been done many many times.

Why is your trap so low ? Full mod list ?

112 mph seems very, very low for a GT30R'd STi

don't COBB stage II STi's run 106-108mph with just a TBE/reflash?

Well it looks like you lost traction momentarily on that launch, and that shift to 5th killed you.

....get a flat-foot shift map made if you don't have one already

112 does seem low for traps. I trap 109-112 with my basic EvoIII 2.0. I understand how close you were, but the power doesn't seem to be there, because your run wasn't bad. A little room for improvement on the shifts, but a 30R'd STi should trap more than 2mph over an EvoIII 2.0 .

better launch and faster gear changes at the right rpm and you'll cut an 11 with ease.

Keep at it

Here is the mod list......

Ultimate Racing Rotated GT30R
Perrin Stealth Front Mount
DW 740CC Injectors
Cobb Protune
TGV Deletes
Perrin Stealth Exhaust
Forge BOV
NGK One Step Colder
ACT Clutch

Here is the Dyno Run.....the MAF is maxed with this tune because Ultimate Racing apparently doesn't send a big enough MAF tube. We didn't have a bigger one at tune time so I would have to get the new part which Ultimate does sell????? Why they don't include the bigger one in the kit is beyond me. And then I would have to pay to continue the tune which I need to save more money for because I would do a race tune at the same time.

That seems to be the problem IMO. The tuner had to greatly restrict the boost levels near redline to stay within the MAF resolution. You need a larger MAF tube and a retune, which it sounds like you already know. I would get over your disappointment and work towards correcting your setup.

Call up Topspeed and get tuned I guarantee you that you will crack 11.8's after that.

Or call me up and let me drive the car.....j/k man. I'd be very ticked off being that close.
