12.8 @ 105 mph

Default Stage 2 , 1/4 mile times

I'm stuck at 13.3 @ 101
My mods are TurboXS stage 2, HPMBC, boost 16.5 - 17psi Pumped gas 93 octane.
I guess I need to install my up pipe sitting in the garage to break out of the 13.3s
Track conditions 75 - 80 degrees 60 -70 % humidity

I ran 4 times all in the 13.3 - 13.4 range, my best run was

.512
1.79
5.43
8.48
11.13
13.37 @ 101 mph

I webt 4-0 against LS1's Z28's and T.A Some had several mods also. I don't know if the track was slow but there was a newer model Cobra running high 14s? There was also a S2000 running low to mid 15s? It seemed like everone was running slow except me.

try race gas...vp c16 117 motor octane fuel perfect for turbo cars. It is the best stuff. Then you may be able to crank the boost up a couple of pounds and wha la...12s.

or you could get rid of that unichip and get a manual boost controller and an afc and crack off some 12 sec passes.

Where do you find this vp c16 117 ? At the track they have some race gas but I'm afraid to use the high octane stuff. I've used the 100 octane before, but my times didn't improve using it. Some one told me not to use the 110 octane - I'm pretty sure its leaded.
Can I run leaded gas in my WRX?

im not 100% sure on this for the WRX, but normally you can run leaded gas if you dont have any catalytic converters in the exhaust system.

2nd...

The newer Cobra could have been a 99. When they first came out, there were some production problems (I think the exhaust and intake) that resulted in most, if not all of those cars running slow and actually making less power than rated. They were rated at 320, up from the 305 of the previous Cobra. However, a lot of owners dynoed and complained, as the power was more like 270 or so. Anyhow, I think they've all been recalled and fixed...

As for the S2000 -- I owned one, so I can vouch for this -- its hard to launch. Either you end up bogging, or you light up the tires up through all of first gear. An inexperienced driver could easily run low 15s... Infact, I think some magazine ran that time because their strip was "too sticky"...

I've only raced 1 stock S2000 in my stock WRX. It was a "street start" from like 5mph and I pulled on him up til about 90. Simply put, turbo lag might be bad, but its not as bad as VTEC lag

BTW, I've now got a stage II Unichip and a catless up-pipe as well. Stock turbo back though. That S2000 now has large tips (dunno if its really an exhaust, because it was still quiet)...

I'm waiting to do the resistor mod for more driveability with the Unichip...

What about the cat in the up pipe? I can run my race pipe so I don't have any cats after the turbo, but I haven't replaced the up pipe yet.

Leaded gas will mess up the oxygen sensors so you don't want to do that.

I seriously doubt he's going to get 12s on the stock turbo by using c16 and turning up the boost. He's at 17psi and I don't think by cranking up the boost more you're going to get all that much out of it. Likewise, I'm not sure with just an AFC and MBC (which he is already using at 16.5-17psi) yer gonna eek out enough to get into the 12s. Nobody has done it yet on the stock turbo...

I also have the stage 2, with a couple other things, and am waiting for the local place to open so I can get at least a couple times.
