Default headgasket question

I have a ej22t and im in the process of doing headgaksets, i have ordered all my gaskets online and come to find out they sent me head gasket's for a ej22 non turbo block the coolant ports are completely differnt so i tryed and ported them out a little bit, and installed them has anyone ever done this before? or will it not work

UMMM.........Just get the proper ones not worth the risk. I would bet your changing your gaskets again as soon as you warm the car up the first time.

When I put EJ22 heads on my EJ25 block, the coolant passages didnt line up too well either. I didnt modify them any way shape or form. I wasnt nice to that motor, I drove the car with fun in mind. Never overheated at all. I was apprehensive at first, but it all worked out.
