Default Convert Your Pontiac G8 Into a Holden Commodore

Quote:

Oh sure, the Pontiac G8 looks good. Actually it looks great. But a Pontiac G8? I still think it should have been the Grand Prix or Bonneville, but it may not matter all that much. But if you want to take the opposite direction and own the G8’s origin as an Aussie bruiser, for the right money the option is available. JHP Vehicle Enhancements in Australia will sell you the entire bodykit to convert a G8 into a Holden Commodore. It looks fantastic and it’s authentic. And you’ll be one of only a handful on the road in the U.S. Prices are steep at $2000-$4000 plus shipping, paint, and installation. But beauty is worth ramen.

If you ask us, the Pontiac G8 has a better looking front fascia than the original Holden Australian version of the car. Nonetheless, if you’re true to the Outback and think that there is nothing better than the original, JHP is offering a conversion kit that will change the look of your Pontiac G8 with a Holden front conversion kit.

JHP is offering two front conversion kits. The Holden VE conversion kit includes hood, hood latch, hood Insulator, front bumper fascia extension, upper grille radiator, front bar fascia, front bar absorber, front fog lamp bezels, front fog lamps, lower RAD grille and badge and front fog lamp wiring harness. The HSV GTS conversion kit adds a hood header panel and a bumper mesh.

Pricing starts at $1,990 for the VE conversion kit and $3,880 for the HSV GTS conversion kit. A Holden badge kit and wheel center caps are available for $150 each.

Assuming the G8 remains unpopular, and they put the DI 3.6 into it and I can get a good deal on one, I might bite on this.

The thing that I like most about the Commodore is the lack of stupid hood vents that the G8 has.
It's one thing if a car has a scoop for a turbo, it's another to have some silly vents on the hood that do nothing but ruin the nice clean lines of a very handsome car.

Damn, night and day difference. Looks great to me! Either of the kit prices aren't too bad given what Japanese kits cost.

Yet no one is buying it and the car rags all seem to hate it in comparison to the Camry and the Accord...

Top Gear did a test of it in Series 10. It put a hurtin on the M5. I thought it was very impressive.

the GTO and the G8 should've been brought over under the Holden name... it would've possibly added some excitement to the GM line... I think

Because what GM needs, is another brand.

I think the Pontiac grill is more interesting. However, I wouldn't be embarrassed so say I drive a Holden...

Test drove a Stryker Blue G8 GT over the weekend. I was on the fence with this purchase but that candy blue paint rubbed me the right way. Already sold my motorcycle and now I just need to sell my WRX!
