Default Will a 2002 RS Exhaust fit a pre-2002 Impreza?

I bought my sisters fiancee a new exhaust for an early B-day present and he has his old one chillen in the garage. Since my exhaust is terribly loud, will his fit?

Thanx?

Bry.

you have to get the end flange rotated and the mid pipe hanger needs to be moved. take it to a muffler shop, they'll do it for like 50 bucks.

Dammit, I was hoping to just jack up the car, pop off some bolts and regain my hearing when I drive
What about the midpipe? I have a stock 2000 Impreza muffler, just no midpipe for it

I think the flange-rotation fitment issue is between the WRX and the MY02 RS's.

In any case, the MY02 mufflers won't exactly bolt onto the old body style because one of the hangers is positioned differently. If you know someone who is handy with a welding torch, this problem can be fixed!

I believe the only fitment problems is as stated above, one of the exaust hangers needs to be relocated on the muffler. The midpipe should bolt up, as the part number on the stromung midpipe is the same for 2002 RS' and pre 2002 RS'.

The 2002 WRX and RS mufflers are the same fitment, I bought a WRX muffler and had a new Midpipe made up and the muffler fit right on the 2002 RS.
Ah well

For the MY02 RS's and WRX's, the muffler hangers are in the same location, but the muffler flanges are slightly different.

You had a custom midpipe made up so that took care of the flange problem.
